  1. In other words, exactly what we've all been saying for months now!
  2. The reason the plant has been idled is because in their infinite wisdom, GM massively overproduced the versions of the CTS/ATS that people don't want (2.0T) which they are already overcharging for and are still very reluctant to put any incentives on them. The only thing they can do to bring the ATPs up to where they should be to make the platform profitable is another redesign that hopefully people will buy.
  3. They didn't bother changing any of it with the refresh. It's the only trim level that was completely unchanged
  4. The light would be a wrench on top of a gear. At my last job before I started at Ford my work van was a 2011 Transit Connect and it had a very similar problem. The electronics in the throttle body failed and it got stuck closed. Might be a similar problem here.
  5. The more shocking part of that is Mazda 6 being 4th. Always thought it was generally looked at as worse after gen 1
  6. and in the name of jeebus PLEASE don't give the blandest style in the history of anything styled like some current EVs. I'm looking at you Focus Electric!
  7. Is that an average? I don't understand it, how about a link to the article
  8. You don't live in Michigan, do you? Road salt and the worst roads in the country killed those things. I see them all the time with the bottoms rusting out. It happened to my fiance's before she traded it in, it was weeks away from dropping the passenger seat out of it. The drivetrains however, were bulletproof. Mine and hers both made it to 150k miles with little trouble beyond normal wear and tear type stuff, though mine had a seemingly unusual appetite for alternators.
  9. As long as the bodies didn't fall apart around them, particularly the ZX2s.
  10. Playing games because it's a contract year maybe?
  11. Depends on what happens with the fiesta and the timing of its next update. I don't think it will make it to the Focus until MY2017
  12. Let me correct you on one thing. They shifted Transit Connect production from Turkey to Ibiza, Spain. And they ARE union
  13. You really think so? I feel like there's more headroom for the rearmost seats in TC vs Grand C-Max, plus more cargo room than C-max, even if the seats are a nightmare to fold down. I could be wrong, but I don't think the 2nd row folds down in the C-max.
  14. A far less daunting (and cheaper) of a task than going from Kentucky to Ohio
  15. At that rate, you would be better off moving the entire assembly process. I can't think of a single way of feasibly shipping thousands of fully assembled cabs from Kentucky to Ohio without A. Costing a fortune and B. Being a logistic nightmare
  16. I believe he was talking of shipping fully assembled cabs
  17. I have little faith my generation is going to help things much.
  18. Cost to ship would probably be a good place to start
  19. All great points, one question though. how much heavier is the DCT competed to a conventional automatic? That's one thing I haven't heard too much about.
  20. There's one pretty good reason CAFE Can't keep surviving on bought tesla credits forever
  21. Once again, you and I are in violent agreement!
  22. It won't be a major issue, it's one fire. Teslas were self destructing left and right for a while
  23. No doubt there were bad decisions made, but I refuse to believe that the added pressure of CAFE didn't contribute to that bad decision at all
