  1. We all seen this coming from a country mile! I’m a union man and knew as we all did that the executives are strategizing how to deal with unions going forward after UAW strike.
  2. Thanks I agree and that’s why I believe that Ford has to rectify this situation somehow
  3. Don’t hold your breath, ain’t happening. They sure have had quality problems but that’s a ford wide problem at the moment.
  4. They won’t do that, I’m not advocating for another ford plant to close to benefit us. The UAW would go ballistic. I just can’t see that happening although I’ve heard a lot of bad things about CAP.
  5. The market is so unstable the situation could improve in terms of sales. BOC won’t be cancelled, no way! They would sooner shut down and older plant and put more capacity in their new crown jewel. Ford could’ve just had edge nautilus hybrid at OAC and continued on in redesigned form like you said. Easy to say now but the market shifted so fast and my shift again. We will see how it plays out in the coming months and years.
  6. If shit hits the fan and Ford wants to downsize no amount of money will keep the plant here. It didn’t save St Thomas Assembly went Ford was offered 150 million at the time to try and save the plant.
  7. They promised 5 EVs which at the time sounded amazing but many were skeptical. It would’ve likely been 2 platforms with different top hats like we did with D471/472 flex mkt and U387/388 Edge/ Nautilus.
  8. Federal and provincial government gave them 590 million dollars for this project. As far as I know plant is proceeding as planned FOR NOW. I don’t know if Ford is obligated to do anything to be honest.
  9. Farley and his multimillionaire brain trust will hopefully navigate themselves out of this successfully.
  10. I’m very interested to hear the outcome of this situation. It still looks like as of now this retool at OAC is still happening. Contractors have been here doing prep work for months before the major demolition starts inside.
  11. Yet they decide to import the Nautilus, I thought cancelling it was a dumb move in the first place. They probably knew they were gonna import it. None of this EV crap will hit edge sales anytime soon. We’re still building this dinosaur and it’s selling more than the great Mach-e?
  12. I agree with everything you said. The question is is what’s the solution to this mess?
  13. It’s almost as though Ford is forecasting now that they won’t do well or far less than the 100000 a year they projected. The market is so volatile, the script got flipped on them quickly.
  14. The Evos is an ICE MACH E to me but it’s gonna be interesting to hear what kind of delays or changes are forthcoming. BOC OAC AND CUATITLAN will all be under capacity if sales remain low if and when the products launch.
  15. I can see Ford delaying them further. The plans have changed so much my skepticism is growing. 5 years and not even a camouflaged unit in sight. Just by their wording I’m anticipating some kind of change in the plan. They’ve been pretty quiet on OAC, come on Ford we need more than vague info!
  16. Thanks for this article I smell some delayed launches at OAC and BOC. If my interpretation is correct they will only launch when they believe they can be profitable?! Someone educate me on this because to me that says to me that delays are coming!
  17. Maybe failure was a bit of a strong word in regards to the Mach E. I can’t wait too see these Gen 2 platforms and products. I hope they are next level. I expect this new pick up truck and the two OAC Bevs to be unveiled sometime later this year. It’s long overdue to see these 3 new products, they’ve been in development for at least 5 years.
  18. I get what you’re saying and agree he has to sell and promote these products as best he can. I agree he’s obviously not gonna say anything stupid.
  19. I agree with you and to me it’s too expensive. Jim Farley says the Mach E is way better than the Edge. Maybe it is but the sales sure don’t reflect that. The mach e looks sharp, it’s too bad it has been a bit of a failure so far.
  20. The next gen Mach- E will be much better, it has to be!
  21. I agree that exporting the Nautilus was the plan because of the reasons you stated. The Bronco Sport Maverick plant is maxed out and the other plant is EV so I don’t know where in Mexico they would build that. Other people in this chart have said Louisville as an option. Is the 7 seat BEV not a replacement for the Edge? Or was the Mach-E supposed to be the successor?
  22. Jim Farley is saying how great the second generation EVs are gonna be so in addition to the next generation Mach E and all the other upcoming products I expect them to be vastly improved over the current products.
  23. I don’t see how it improves either hence the reason I’m skeptical.
