  1. I'm mainly in city driving so nice and flat but I've mastered regen braking now, I can get brake scores consistently in the 85-100% range. My stats would have been better but I did about a 500km back in February to visit a family member out of town so it was all highway driving back and forth couldn't use EV mode. With everything on lockdown now I don't go anywhere other than to/from work or for groceries so well within EV driving distance I don't think the engine has come on at all in last 2 weeks.
  2. Has anyone else had their check engine light come on randomly on their Aviator and then turn off? This happened to me last week on my Aviator GT the light came on when turning on the car and the Lincoln app sent an alert on my phone at the same time. The light went off by itself the next morning. I couldn't bring it to the dealer to check it out because they are closed because of the ongoing lockdown. I eventually brought it to my own mechanic who checked the codes with his scanner and the trouble code that came up was "Lost Communication with ECM". Hopefully just a random electrical glitch but I was curious if it happened to anyone else?

  4. This is exactly correct and what my Aviator GT does. If you have PAAK enabled, the range of the bluetooth on your phone is about 30-40ft so if your vehicle is in the garage or driveway and you are walking around in your house with your phone in your pocket and are within close enough range to the vehicle (even from inside) it will keep triggering the welcome lighting sequence. If it does this more than 3-4 times it will stop doing it completely and the only way to get any reaction again is to unlock the door by pressing the handle. When this "welcome override" kicks in it no longer lowers the suspension on approach, most likely because it the welcome sequence is disabled to save battery so it is not even monitoring the proximity and doesn't care how close you are anymore. If that happens the only way to get the air suspension to lower is to push the unlock button on fob/PAAK. An interesting twist is that if you approach from the back and open the tailgate it will still automatically lower the back end 4" as soon as the tailgate opens. I think there is a separate built in logic that it has to lower the back end anytime the tailgate opens regardless if the welcome sequence was cancelled.
  5. I looked everywhere for a setting to automatically lower the air suspension after turning the car off and couldn't find one. I would love it if mine did that, but I'm guessing that would make too much sense and be a very useful feature which is probably why it was overlooked. The Easy Entry/Exit is only for driver seat and steering wheel.
  6. The furthest I have ever gone in mine so far electric only is about 39km (24mi) and that's starting with a full charge and taking it easy with gentle stops and lots of regen braking. Climate usage (especially heating) has a noticeable impact on your EV range. If the battery is depleted a full charge takes around 3h 45min at Level 2 (240V).

I've never noticed the DTE increase after time like it did on the Aviator on my previous Ford/Lincoln vehicles, maybe that is something unique to the PHEV because it has to factor EV driving into the calculation. On my 2017 MKX the DTE would either stay the same for a while or go down more slowly relative to the distance actually traveled when highway driving but it never went up.
  9. I've had my Aviator GT for 2 months now and use the cruise with lane centering quite regularly. I've found the lane centering works very well overall and have not experienced what you described. It sounds like a glitch, I'd take it back to the dealer to check it. It definitely sounds like the camera behind the rearview mirror needs to be calibrated. The lane centering on mine does keep the car relatively centered, it does slightly favor the left side of the lane but it steers around gentle curves by itself with ease. You do have to provide some manual pressure on the wheel every 5-10 seconds or the warning message pops up to put your hands on the wheel. The only time I got the cancelled message is when I had it on, it was keeping the car centered and I intentionally nudged the wheel a bit to one side to avoid a pothole in the road. Even on the few times the lane centering got cancelled it automatically reset itself after about 5 seconds or so.

I find on my Aviator GT what is shown in the display for both the gas level gauge and the DTE is not so much a based on the actual amount of gas in the tank (although I'm sure it does measures the actual level in the tank for safety) but rather a projection the car is making from constant calculations of the estimated DTE and gas level based on your driving patterns. The gas gauge and DTE will noticeably change and has actually gone up depending on whether you are driving in EV or not. A couple weeks ago I was driving on highway with the engine running the whole time (battery was depleted) and when I got home the gas gauge was exactly at the 1/2 mark and DTE was 398km to empty. The next morning the same gas level and DTE on display. For next 2 days after I only drove short trips in EV mode only so the engine never came on at all and no gas was used. On the third day when I turned it on the gas gauge was slightly above the 1/2 mark and the DTE had jumped to 416km. Since I didn't pump any extra gas in the tank, the display is clearly revising the "projection" of the gas level and DTE because I was using EV a lot so it is more efficient and will have more range. Maybe it only does that on the GT because it's a PHEV so the calculation takes EV usage into account.
  11. Well if you're looking for a faster+hotter seats get yourself into a 2020 Aviator as your next vehicle! The front seats on my Aviator (heated/cooled) heat up very fast (less than 2 min) and get quite hot at level 3 (highest) almost to the point of uncomfortable. They definitely heat the entire backrest and I can feel the heat even with a jacket on. Maybe because I ordered the "Roast" interior they tuned the settings higher than normal to roast you..... There's definitely no engine coolant involved in seat heating everything is powered electrically. Just look under the seat and you'll see only wiring harnesses no coolant lines. If you find the heating function on your Edge to be mediocre, wait till you try the "cooling" you will be disappointed! Barely a breath of air comes through the bottom and back even on high setting, at least that's what I found on our MKXs/Edges. How's your heated steering wheel? If you have Edge Titanium that should be standard. I found at least the heated wheel works well in the Edge and MKX, not as great in Fusion but definitely better than nothing on a cold day.
  12. Yes akirby is right if your seats have both heat/cool functions then the heating does take a while to warm up vs. heated only seats. I've had it on 2016 MKX, 2017 MKX and 2018 Edge all with heated/cooled front seats and both functions take a while to have any noticeable effect. Our MKX's also had heated rear seats and they do heat up much faster than the front seats because there's no fan just an element. With that said the front seats do heat the backrest a little bit as well as the seat bottom but the back is nowhere near as intense. I would say heat distribution is about about 75% bottom and 25% back. If you're wearing a jacket you may not even feel the heat on the back its not that noticeable.

What a weird coincidence as I was driving my Aviator GT home from work today I had my radio turned down low and was cruising in EV mode so the cabin was very quiet and I could hear a slight whistling. At first thought I had accidentally left a window open a crack because it distinctly sounded like wind noise but the windows were all closed. I wasn't concentrating on it at the time to know for sure if it was coming from the windshield or not but after reading your post I'll pay attention for it again and if it happens again will try and pinpoint where it's coming from. I was driving 75km/h (about 45mph) at the time I heard it.
  14. I'd love to see how they look on a GT with the black lower molding vs chrome on regular Aviator. Although if you have the air suspension you'd be buying them mostly for looks because it kneels down a decent 2" or so (if you wait the 10 seconds for it to drop) making for very easy entry/exit.
  15. Are you sure the tank is 20 gallons? I just checked the Aviator manual and it says 18 gal (68L) not 20 gal. I filled up my Aviator GT for the first time last week and the fuel gauge was around 1/4 tank mark remaining beforehand. I pumped in 54L (14.2 gal) so if the capacity is 68L (18 gal) that means there was about 20% remaining still in the tank before fill up so that seems pretty accurate to me.
  16. I found out about the update after my PAAK stopped working completely and I had to bring it to the dealer to be fixed. The dealer contacted Lincoln Canada and then mentioned they had to hook it up to their scanner to download a massive software update which took 4 hours. I'm pretty sure it's not a simple update of the Sync 3 system that can be done over wifi or downloading to a USB drive. They would not give any details on what this update was called, version or anything. The Lincoln app doesn't say anything about the vehicle software needing an update, only if the app itself needs to be updated. Mine was produced Dec 1 so yours may have the older software same as mine. I showed the issue with the HUD missing the EV range to the dealer and they brought their Lincoln Canada rep out to see it and take photos to document the issue. Apparently they are "looking into it" and advised it will likely be fixed with a future software update.
  17. CoolScoop, I'm curious if you've set up the PAAK on your GT yet and have had any issues? Mine has been working great for a week now after the dealer software update, since yours is newer hopefully you got the newer software at the factory. Does your HUD show both the EV and gas DTE range? Or is it just the gas range?
  18. Seeing all the posts about the OEM Lincoln charging cable I never even bothered to take mine out of the package (since I had existing charging station) but finally did to see . See photos below of the what the front/back of the wall connector adapter looks like. You can use a standard 15A 120V plug without the adapter otherwise if add the adapter it converts it to a NEMA 6-20R plug which is rated for 240V 20A receptacle. It's made by Webasto which makes a lot of the OEM charging equipment for most major auto manufacturers. It's way better than the Ford branded one that came with my Fusion Energi which only has standard 120V 15A plug at least with the Lincoln one you have the choice to 120 or 240 with the adapter and it comes with a nice carrying case too. If you don't want to go through the expense of installing a charging station, CoolScoop is right you can just install the 240V/20A plug and use the Lincoln charging cable all the time and you will actually get the full charging capability at 240V.

  20. I'm not insulted at all and enjoy healthy debate on the issue. Yes you're correct that net effect on the overall hydro cost with the delivery/regulatory/HST added would make it higher than $.10/Kwh; however, that is largely offset by the Ontario electricity rebate on your bill so that's why I would exclude it from my cost calculations. On my last hydro bill the amount for delivery and regulatory was $43.52 and the Ontario rebate was a $40.55 credit so I'd call that a wash.
  21. The onboard charger on the Aviator is rated for about 3.7KW at Level 2 charging, so at 240V it will draw around 15A. I've been plugging mine in daily for over a month and even with battery depleted to 0% the max charge current I've ever seen it go to was 15.6A. (see screenshot below) My JuiceBox charging station is connected to a 50A breaker and rated to supply up to 40A at 240V; however, the vehicle's on board AC/DC charging module that actually charges the battery can only handle a max 3.7KW so it will not draw more than 15-16A regardless of how much amperage is available. If you are only charging your Aviator and nothing else you would be fine with 20A supply at 240V. My 2019 Fusion Energi has the exact same 3.7KW rating because it only draws about 14.8 - 15.2A max when charging at Level 2 (240V). As a side note for anyone that may not know, on PHEV's and pure Electric Cars the external portable Level 1 charger or Level 2 charging station or EVSE (Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment) as it is technically called, does not actually charge the car's battery at all because the EVSE is supplying 120 - 240 AC power and the battery needs to be charged with DC power. All the EVSE does is negotiate with the car the amount of current to supply at the available voltage and then the car has an onboard charging module that converts the AC to DC voltage (at whatever DC voltage the battery pack requires) and based on the size of the onboard charging module built into the car it can only handle up to a certain KW rating. Most PHEV's and BEV's have onboard AC/DC charging modules that can handle between 3 - 10KW from Level 1 or Level 2 AC charging stations. I've heard that Teslas have much bigger onboard AC/DC charging modules that can handle 19KW or up 80A from a Level 2 (240V) charging station. The only way to charge your car faster is with a DC fast charging station (Tesla supercharger, CCS, or Chademo) if the car supports DC fast charging. DC fast charging bypasses the car's onboard AC/DC charging module and charges the high voltage battery pack directly. That's why a DC fast charging station can charge the battery to 80% in like 15-20 minutes. Since the Aviator doesn't support DC charging the best you're gonna get is 15-16A at 240V which takes about 3.5 - 3.75 hours to fully charge the battery.
  22. When I had my GT in the dealer on Wednesday I begged them to tell me what the major update was and they refused. But whatever it was it can only be done by the dealer using their scanner tools and it took over 4 hours.
  23. No actually, I'm not oversimplifying the hydro cost at all. My JuiceBox charger has built in software and app that constantly monitors the charging voltage and current tot he vehicle and calculates the EXACT amount of Kwh used (including losses based on actual EVSE efficiency). The JuiceNet app and software also gives you consumption charts, historical usage graphs, etc. to track your hydro consumption and it will track multiple vehicles using the same charger to keep track of the hydro usage separately per vehicle. Plus I programmed charger software so that it will ONLY charge the vehicle during off-peak hours (from 7pm-7am) so that the hydro rate is cheaper @ $0.10/Kwh (not including Ontario 8% provinical rebate on your bill). I don't think it's appropriate to include the upfront cost of the charger in the ongoing hydro consumption calculations because that's technically an addition/appliance to my home (like buying a stove or fridge). I also have a 2019 Fusion Energi PHEV as a company car at work and I will admit the efficiency is phenomenal. To date we've clocked about 7800km on the car and are only on our 5th tank of gas. Our total amount of gas put in to date 209L, total hydro usage 668Kwh and total combined cost of both gas and hydro is about $330.
  24. Congrats on the new Aviator GT! It seems like Blue Diamond is a popular exterior choice for us in GT crowd, but I can't wait for pics to see the of the slate interior I have not seen one yet. Our dealer only stocks black on black and white on black Aviators. I had the same experience when my GT showed up, all the dealer staff and even other customers were hovering around taking pictures of it they had never seen a GT or a blue diamond Aviator before.

My Aviator was supposed to come with the OEM Lincoln liners but for some reason dealer misplaced them at time of delivery and didn't have any more in stock so they ordered me a complimentary full set of Weathertechs. A week later they found my OEM liners and gave them to me as well, so I actually have both sets. I have always liked Weathertechs and would normally not put anything else in a car, but having now had both sets I agree with CoolScoop the Lincoln ones are better. If anyone that wants to see the difference see the photos below. The main advantage of the OEM liners is the driver side mat, which extends down about 4" below the seat rail to nicely protect the carpeting right beside the door sill which in my experience always gets hit with salt stains in the winter from snow and other crap on your boots. The OEM liner also comes up higher a couple inches to protect the driver's footrest. See the photo below to see a comparison with the WT placed on top of the OEM liner. As for the cargo area, I give advantage to WT vs OEM. The WT cargo liner has much larger lip at the perimeter to protect against spills and mine also covers the 3rd row seat which is a bonus because I hardly use them. (see photos below) I'm sure you can get a bigger OEM cargo liner to cover the 3rd row as well but if it is the same design as the smaller one, I still say WT cargo liner is better.
