Ha, guess I’m just not the market they are looking for with that feature. Even though I love cars, I look at them as a way from point A to point B. My goal is to get to point B as fast as possible. To me, relaxing in a car is a waste of time. I’ll relax when I get home 😆. Maybe I’m the weirdo! The ac vents just seem dangerous to me. That’s not a simple button press that only takes a sec. You have to look at the screen for a while to get the vents in the right position. I’ve never used this feature in a Tesla, so maybe it’s not as bad as I imagine.

here’s the TFL video. The dash is really low and the screen is far back. I guess that’s done to not interfere with the view of the road and still allow you to see the screens. Not having the screen or gauges directly behind the wheel is gonna take some getting used to. Just looks like something is missing. I think I like the position of the center screen better in the expedition since it’s a bit higher up, but my opinion might change after we see actual production photos. i think my favorite new feature is the tailgate. Like Andre demonstrates in the video, opening only the top section allows you to access the rear without having anything fall out. This comes in handy if you’ve parked on an incline or if groceries got moved around when driving. You won’t have cans or jars accidentally rolling out. Having a tailgate to sit on that’s also covered is nice. I’ve been a fan of the jet appearance package since it came out and this one doesn’t disappoint. Really like that color. The black label looks nice. It always has nice leather but I especially like this one. Wish the copper accents looked more like copper. Even after he pointed it out, it was still hard to see. 24” wheels are crazy but they look good. The biggest zonk of this new navigators interior that I haven’t seen mentioned elsewhere is the ac vents being controlled digitally. Did anyone ask for this feature? Why overcomplicate something that’s so simple? I also don’t understand the rejuvenate mode. Both seem like a waste of development costs.

Something mustang related to be shown next week

It’s cool to see ford offer these digital dial “skins”. Many, many years ago, I suggested to ford to create an “App Store” where users could download different Instrument panel skins. I’d bet a lot of people would be willing to throw down a few dollars to buy one. Fortnite has literally made billions of dollars from kids buying digital clothes for their characters. -
All cars are going to have full width screens here in the near future. Even Hyundais now have screens taking up 2/3 of the dash.

It’s ok. I don’t think it will increase sales any. I don’t really pay attention to navigator or anything expedition that much but is this an L version with the larger rear? It seems like it’s about a foot too long. the lower front grille also doesn’t seem to flow well with the rest of the front design. i agree with what everyone else says about the screen. It’s funny to say this but 48” is too small, especially when it’s pushed back as far as it is. The Escalades looks much larger. And the split in the screen is way too noticeable. I couldn’t believe the “commercial” they had highlighted the split multiple times. You’d think they’d try and hide it. The nautilus does a much better job at hiding the different screens. I do like the rest of the interior though. I like the split tailgate too.

Acura Teases new "Segment Defying" Performance SUV

I really like this. Profile looks great. I think I could even get used to the beak. Has a bit of Buick crossed with an F1 car look. -

Wonder what the deal is with the RTR mustang? Would it be an actual trim or just a parts package like it currently is? The off-road version sounds interesting. Could that be the same off-road mustang we heard about several months ago? -

I prefer ford not release the renderings to be honest. How many times have you seen a really cool rendering only to be disappointed by the production version? Now, if they had clay mock-ups or actual vehicles, definitely release those pics. -
You could have told me this was a 2020 gmc and I would have believed you. It looks fine. Nothing special to it but nothing ground breaking either. I like the interior. I personally would like to see a canyon suv.

2025 Bronco Sport getting Sasquatch package?
T-dubz replied to silvrsvt's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
I wonder if this Sasquatch bronco sport is the same one we have been seeing on ford authority for months now. Previously they had said it was the new badlands. I like what I have seen from the spy photos but something even more extreme would be cool. https://fordauthority.com/2024/06/2025-ford-bronco-sport-badlands-spotted-without-camo-photos/amp/ -
2025 Ford Escape Drops Rain Sensing Wipers

I’ve been saying it was priced too high ever since it came out. Still needs to be another 1-2k cheaper though. -

I’m glad to see someone else say this. The body colored bumpers are my favorite part and I hope they make it to other trims. -

Sticking with the animal theme, I thought coyote would have been a good name. It’s already the name of a higher end engine so it has a performance heritage. -
Focus and fiesta may return as affordable evs
T-dubz replied to DeluxeStang's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
When was the last time ford came up with an original name? Was it the fusion? I don’t necessarily mind them using the focus, fiesta or escort names. When I hear any of those, I think affordable. If that’s the message they are trying to relay, then they seem to be a good fit. I’d prefer ford to come up with new names though. -

I’m all for sport truck versions of all these models, but I wonder if they did any focus group testing on the name? Seems strange to go full steam ahead with it. Lightning was a good name because it sounded fast. Lobo, not so much. what will they call it in Mexico? The lobo lobo? -

I’d guess you are right. The Alex on autos video mentions that they removed second gear from the 8 speed so it would spend more time accelerating and less time shifting. Also, it’s called the 7 speed quick shift transmission on build and price, so maybe it shifts faster? -

The turbo wheels are standard, but they are offering other optional wheels that aren’t shown. This is just ford’s way of getting more money out of you. Offer a wheel so ugly that you have no choice but to pay an extra $995 for optional wheels 😆. I think offering an appearance package with body colored bumpers, unique wheels and grille would have a better option. It keeps prices down, which is important to maverick buyers but still allows you to get a sporty look. Price also seems high for not getting any extra power. Both the standard and high lobo are thousands more than the current lariat. 42k would have been a reasonable price if it had the 2.3. edit: here are the optional wheels from the build and price. Only $100 extra which is surprising. Makes the wheels a non issue now. -
2025 Ford Maverick ST potentially spotted

With all the experience of designing the best looking sport trucks (lightning) that ever existed, you would think this would have been easy for ford, yet somehow they managed to screw this up. The wheels, grille, and name are all terrible. How hard is it to get a set of decent wheels? Literally anything would have been better. The new lariat wheels in all black would have looked great. -

I’m really happy with this refresh. I think the front looks 100x better, the larger screen is great and so are those wheels on the green one. My only complaint is how cheap the center stack looks now (the part below the ac vents). It kinda looks like an aftermarket insert. -
Ha, you are def right about the wagoneer. That thing is hideous and oddly proportioned. I really like the profile of the Escalade ev. I wish the nav/expedition would look something like that.

https://www.motor1.com/features/727805/best-selling-trucks-2024/ 1. F150 - 352,406 7. Maverick - 77,113 Maverick is the best selling non full-size truck this year. That might change next year when the Tacoma production is at full steam. Interestingly, the frontier is #9 and has a 17% increase in sales over last year. As one of the older designs (even though it’s still fairly new) in the midsize category, this is surprising. I think a new interior would really help its sales as well, but the exterior is a good design. Its lower price probably helps as well. It’s pretty close to the Colorado in sales now. Ranger did not make the top 10. Probably due to low production. At full production, I think it would overtake the gladiator at #10. It might have trouble with the frontier and Colorado.

I’d like to see a full redesign too. This generation of expedition and navigator have a bloated look to them. The front ends on both look great, but the body takes away from that. I’d like to see ford trim up the expedition like they did the explorer. Hopefully the next redesign will take care of that.

I prefer physical controls too. It’s so much easier. But, I have noticed that the little ledge below the screen in the bronco really helps me out. I can put my hand on that while trying to push a button on the screen and it makes it a bit easier.
