  1. A lot of departments around me have switched away from Ford all together including the State Patrol. Once county has had nine of their Explorer PIs on order destroyed by Ford because they could not be fixed. One agency has gone with the Tahoe exclusively. I think a lot of agencies were surprised at the price increase of the Explorer PI.
  2. Yes that's your opinion. But considering what Ford is willing to invest in (train station, etc) the cost associated with bringing the Ranger Raptor here would have been pennies on the dollar and they would have sold every one. Also perfectly valid reasons to bring it here. And that is my opinion. It's not bad mouthing to want to see a manufacturer succeed Jesus Christ......
  3. Tesla should not be allowed to sell any car with this software. It clearly does not work.
  4. I don't think it will. It's only 500 bucks. They're not paying for the entire vehicle.
  5. That's slick! Didn't that dealer offer some crazy performance upgrade for the Mustang a while back?
  6. Act like what if I may? I'm participating in discussion. Is that not appropriate for new users? I've lurked for a few years. I don't feel new. I'm sorry if I offended anyone.
  7. Well I am at work, at a hospital in a major metropolitan city, where we have 6,000+ employees. I'm unaware of anything I've said that would constitute trolling. But your warning is noted. What an inviting board though! Accusations of trolling and IP tracking.
  8. Nah I don't buy that. The truck has been being made since 2012. It would have cost them pennies to do what I said above. They already make everything to make it happen. It's literally just bolting the items in place and installing a different tune on the engine.
  9. I'm sorry (well not really) but I just don't. Not when there is a large amount of context being ignored (mainly how many total reservations Ford has received). Believe me I thank God everyday Ford is not Tesla. Tesla is an awful company that makes garbage and is run by a fraud. I agree with the speculation that Ford will sell 50K in the first year. But that is more of a indication of how a mature, proper company operates. They are being conservative (or responsible) with their production and sales forecast. Tesla would never do that but then, they are kids sitting at the adult table.
  10. To be fair he did list "reasons". Mainly being the low quality and issues of the Aviator, the fact the Kia dealer is much closer, and that the Kia was $21K less expensive. Just because YOU wouldn't cross-shop those brands doesn't mean others wouldn't. Many reviews have indicated how the Kia punches well above it's price tag in terms of quality. That's just a fact. And I've yet to see articles like this written about the Kia: https://www.freep.com/story/money/cars/ford/2019/10/03/lincoln-aviator-suv-recall-chicago-explorer-police-interceptor/3830654002/
  11. 300K? Bwhahahahahaha. And then how many realized they could get an F-150 with similar mileage, a heated steering wheel, and more space for the same price after incentives? That just proves my point on making a big stink about reservations. They are meaningless.
  12. I'm not spinning it as negative. It's just a very specific example of reservations being placed but not the full picture from Ford. In fact it's so specific of an example it really tells us nothing. Frankly if the numbers were worth touting, Ford would have released them with their Mache facts press release linked above. But even the press release is limited only to the "first edition". Weren't all models available to reserve?
  13. I would hope that dealer is smart enough to know that reservations mean squat. What is meaningful is how many Mache sales actually materialize. A fully refundable reservation is vaporware until the papers are signed.
  14. Yes that is what I said. Probably one of the most short sighted decisions we've seen in recent times. The Ranger Raptor should have been available at launch, with a tuned version of the 2.3L. Remember Ford offered a tune for the 2.3L in the Mustang from 2015-2017(?) that retained the factory warranty for $699. https://jalopnik.com/fords-warranty-preserving-ecoboost-mustang-tune-is-fina-1787660757 To assert that there was no way to get that truck here at launch is absurd. That truck would have printed money for Ford. "Oh you came in to look at the F-150 Raptor but cannot afford $70k How about this Ranger Raptor for only $49,995." Lastly, having friends that have bought a Ranger, love it, but added bigger wheels/tires, I'd say there would have been a market for a Raptor body kit. Call it the Wildtrak package so you can preserve the Raptor name for when the Ranger Raptor launches later.
  15. As much as I hate when Ford does it (Sport Trac Adrenalin anyone?), they really need to make the Ranger Raptor body kit available if they are going to continue to be extremely short sighted and not offer the full truck here. The Ranger would look so much better and not like it's on stilts.
  16. True. I just though it was funny when it popped into my head. Nah it's not us. We don't need a dealer crowing about 40 reservations. It's not that big of a deal or really indicative of anything. A better number would be the total number of reservations Ford has received.
