Ford Mustang V8 Will Pay Dividends Now That Rivals Are Gone (fordauthority.com) While the headline is definitely interesting, I would also draw attention to the part about growing and the future of Mustang. I am unsure of where it would fit in the Mustang lineup, but I would love a mid-engine (engine behind the driver) version. Not counting the financials or logistics of such a thing, of course. Perhaps above the inevitable GT500/GT500 replacement and below the GTD?

The CT5 BW is honestly a great looking car. Impressive.

I doubt the supercharged 5.2 would be used; I think they want the Raptor R to remain their fastest truck for now. My bets are, if this comes to fruition and they want to make a better attempt at a street truck than the 2014 Tremor, the 5.0, 3.5, or 3.5 HO. I also would not expect a single cab at all.

Interesting move, Ford. Great job. I just hope that it has approachable pricing for the common person. Like C8 prices or slightly higher. As @DeluxeStang said, hopefully it has a decent set of powertrain options. I bet Dodge is mad they just killed off their Viper now. Perhaps this has something to do with that off-road supercar mentioned by the CEO iirc? Or maybe it is too soon for that since it was mentioned?

11 Mustangs that never came to be

Always liked some of the mid-engined Mustangs and Mustang sedans. I know, not necessarily brand-appropriate, but some designs look good. -

Is the 2.7l EB still expected to be available? -
Thought this might be strange idea at first. But, thinking about it, I can see the rationale. Interested to hear more.

S650 Mustang GT500 Mules Testing (no pics)

Very interesting ideas. Not too sure what this is: ? Mustang GT3 Road-Version Prototype Spied Testing with Center-Exit Exhaust | Mustang7G - 2024+ S650 Mustang Forum (Hybrid, GT, EcoBoost, GT350, GT500, Bullitt, Mach 1) -
Agree that cars are getting up there in price. Hope that prices come down in the near future for the regular people, but we shall see. This is certainly an interesting vehicle. If it was made, I would prefer a solid rear axle, but I doubt that would actually happen. I would hope that it would turn out good, and not ruin the Raptor name, but Ford has been good with Raptor so far. And Expedition Raptor R. (I joke on this one of course)!

In my own personal life no one wants an electric vehicle to be honest. I'm usually one of the few car people that talks about this stuff, but people I have talked to have only wanted reliable gas transportation. Where I differ from them is wanting loud V8s, just because I love the sound, feel, etc. But they all think that electric is a boondoggle, to use nice language. I think that the Ecoboost is really good too. I drove the Ecoboost Ranger and it was fun! But, if it was my money really on the line (and with prices so high), I'd want a V8 to "have it all" to get my money's worth. Personally, I think that that whatever source of power- Electric, V8, Ecoboost, etc.- people want for their life is fine. I have no right to force my views on anyone. If electric is what someone wants, cool! If not, that's cool too. I am sure that there are many others like me too.

I think you're right. Look at the advertising emphasis on the v8 in the Mustang specs video, f150 raptor r, talk of a ranger raptor r, etc. You don't really hear that kind of stuff much anymore. And Megazilla is another extension of that too, though as a crate engine.
-
I agree completely. Without any data to back it up, I think that Raptor owners would be far more likely than the average F150 buyer to prefer a V8. The 3.5 HO is good, but there is some portion of the Raptor segment that was somewhat turned off by it and could be better served by a V8. Heck, even the talk of a Ranger Raptor R with a Coyote shows how Raptor people can like V8s.

I always pictured what is described in your posts as the rumored 6.8 that was mentioned to go in variants of the Mustang and F150. If they can get good performance out of it, it could go in a Shelby or some other Mustang variant (I like a Boss as a possibility). And the Raptor would get a V8 people could actually somewhat afford.

2024 Mustang HP numbers
Broncofan7 replied to silvrsvt's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
Very good numbers. I am a bit surprised that the DH did not have a few more HP to separate it more from the GT, but I certainly am not going to complain about a 500 HP 5.0. Good job Ford. -
I didn't see any other topics about this. Ford Megazilla crate engine revealed with 615 hp (motorauthority.com) 615HP - 7.3L MEGAZILLA Crate Engine is Here!!! | PRI 2022 - YouTube

Ford Applies "Megazilla" Trademark
Broncofan7 replied to ANTAUS's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
Ford's really developing its Godzilla into a family of engines. Good job Ford. -
I think that the rear looks a bit simpler (if that's a good word), but think it looks a lot better. I think the interior looks very nice and modern. Overall, great update.

GT making 500 HP?! That's great! While it doesn't look like a complete redesign, it looks like a good car.
