  1. Being able to view the window sticker would confirm whether the vehicle was built as ordered. In my case, I asked for a simple change, deleting the 9900/10000 GVWR, weeks ago. The salesman stated that it wasn't to late to make that change. When I asked him for confirmation of the change a week later, I heard nothing back from him, and still haven't. If it didn't get done, I won't be happy. ?
  2. How about $50.00 off the price of our trucks because we can’t get a window sticker? Maybe that would be impetus for Ford to get their shit together!! ?
  3. No doubt if that was my job, I'd make sure I knew how to do everything required to do things correctly, and to the best of my ability. My point was I didn't grow up with computers, I-Pads, and smartphones like my kids and grandkids have. This morning I was trying to link a computer to a printer, and after about four tries, it finally occurred to me that the first three digits in the printer number that I was trying to use were for a printer in another town, not the printer across the room from me. ?
  4. So, when pulling our 32 ft. stock trailer fully loaded with cattle behind our Cummins with no engine brake, if I'm coming to an intersection and needing to stop or turn, I might just as well shift the 5 speed to neutral, rather than using the engine as well as the brakes on both truck and trailer to slow or stop, because that high compression diesel is going to offer me little help anyway?
  5. I'm 64 yrs old, and I'd be one of those salesman. ?
  6. I sure can't agree with that. You can apply engine braking with any engine by downshifting the transmission, manual or automatic, not just with an exhaust brake. And a diesel engine will always be more effective just by virtue of higher compression.
  7. What's up with the whole "chicken lights" thing? Roosting on top of the cab or what?
  8. Yep, I think it's all speculation for all of us until our new vehicles are unloaded at our respective dealerships. My dealership is pretty small, in fact the only new car dealership in the county. The salesman told me when I placed our order on 04/16/2021 that they only had one allocation for a '22 Super Duty, and that it was being used for our truck. I was told this again when I signed papers for the COVP. They have received a couple of 21MY F350'S here lately, and their website shows a couple more in transit, all F350's. One of the two already received must have been sold when it arrived as it didn't make it to the lot. The other is on the lot, and it's a pretty truck, just not what I want or need. As far as me being lucky or chosen, I don't have much confidence in that either, but a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while. ?
  9. On July 6 I received a message from my salesman saying that our 22MY Super Duty was scheduled for production on July 22. Today I received a message from him stating "Your new truck has been produced, now all we have to do is get it here. I'll let you know when it's on its way." So, none of the tracking data that I'm accessing daily on the internet indicates what the salesman is telling me. In fact I can't even see a window sticker, although I have had a VIN since July 6. What ya think, is what the salesman is telling me possible?
  10. At your convenience please!! N001 F56407 1FT7W2BN2NEC33096 Thanks very much for all that you do!
  11. Adding to what Kory04 just said, I really can’t imagine why anyone needs that much horsepower and torque. Our 23 year old Cummins has a five speed manual transmission behind it. Don’t ask how I know that the torque of that older tech diesel engine will tear the center right out of a clutch disc if you’re not kind of careful with it. ?
  12. My view is this. Our current trailer puller is a ‘98.5 24 valve Cummins rated at 235 hp and 460 lbs./ft. Our ordered ‘22 Super Duty 7.3 is rated at 430 hp and 475 lbs./ft. See where I’m going with this? The Dodge Cummins has been a great truck for the 18 years we’ve owned it, and it’s still highly desirable and valuable because it’s pre DEF and all of the other emissions crap that’s on the new Diesel engines. We also aren’t in the cattle business any longer, and aren’t hauling something several days, every week, year around. The new truck will be pulling a living quarters horse trailer with two or three horses as needed, and will see very limited use pulling the stock trailer, or anything else. I’ve never been disappointed or dissatisfied with the Cummins, and I don’t expect to be disappointed or dissatisfied with the 7.3 gasser. And I’m just not going to put up with all of the crap that goes along with owning and maintaining a modern Diesel engine. My $.02, YMMV.
  13. I got surprised today, and received a message from my salesman, without even asking. Our new Super Duty will be built on July 22. EEEEHAWWWWW!! Sure hope the date holds!
  14. I'd be really happy if we could go back to the sealed beam headlights that were used by everyone when I started driving 50+ years ago. No foggy plastic lenses to recondition or replace, adequate night time vision without blinding oncoming drivers, when they were dirty, you could simply scrub them clean. If they worked, and were adjusted/aimed properly, you were good to go. Yep, I'm an old geezer.
  15. How much does the price of a ESP go up if you wait until right before the end of bumper to bumper vs buying it at the time of the new vehicle purchase?
  16. Aren't forward facing clearance lights required by law to be amber colored, and rear facing red?
  17. I surely understand what you’re saying, and what you’re anxious over. I decided on the 7.3 engine early on, and spec’d both the camper package, and FX4 with the 4.30 rear end for the max load carrying capacity that I could get on our new truck. I studied the 2022 Super Duty trailer towing information at length in making those decisions. It looks like you’ve done the same, and I see the unknowns that there seem to be in that information guide. I’m not sure that we want to use that guide as our trailer towing bible, but it may be the best info we have until we have our new trucks.
  18. Alright then, mmmhmm. I guess in our part of the world, Thursday, July 1 was part of the current week we’re in, and Thursdays are when they begin scheduling for the coming week. I stand corrected.
  19. ice-capades posted in this thread on Wednesday that Expedition and Super Duty scheduling was cancelled for Thursday, July 1. Also many posts on plant closings and reduced production/shifts beginning July 12 at the Kentucky truck plant.
  20. Yeah, I don’t know, and I don’t disagree with what you’re saying. Perhaps the tire manufacturers derate certain tires in bumper pull vs gooseneck/fifth wheel situations, although you’d sure think that if a tire was rated for say 3042 lbs @ 80 psi cold, that would be the load carrying capacity, period, excepting dual wheel applications. I know we’re getting the 18” A/T tires on our new F250 as that’s what the FX4 package specifies. I guess if I’m not happy with the tires and their load carrying capacity if and when it arrives, I’ll just do a tire swap.
  21. Based on 40 + years experience in towing all kinds of trailers, I’m inclined to think that these ratings aren’t based on the type of tire, but on the fact that gooseneck or fifth wheel towing spreads the load of the trailer over the whole towing vehicle, and not just on the rear end, ie conventional towing. Make sense? Just my $.02, for what it’s worth.
  22. No, not a Tremor, sorry. Nicely equipped, but pretty basic XLT build.
  23. I made my weekly call to Ford Marketing today. The gal I talked to said she remembered me from my past calls, so I guess we're almost on a first name basis. Anyway, today I received a VIN. Still not scheduled to week or day, but having the VIN has to be a step in the right direction. I'll call again in a week. BTW, F250 CCLB, 7.3, FX4, XLT Premium. Ordered on 04/16/2021.
  24. Ok, I certainly stand corrected, and apologize for my misinformation. Not being a Ford employee, I'm unaware of what that program offers, only how it works with my partner company employer. It seemed to me that the OP in this thread was fishing on the internet for a PIN, but I probably read that wrong too. Thanks for setting me straight, and for the helpful information!!
  25. I believe that you have to be employed by a Ford partner company, or be a member of a Ford partner organization to qualify for X Plan pricing. The PINS aren't something that's shared by anyone but those companies or organizations.
