  1. After a brief search of the necessary parts in the video, looks like its around $7-800 for the parts. More than I'm looking to have into it
  2. Thanks for the link. It looks like its possible, but maybe more involved than I would try and attempt. I'll probably just install a basic leather one, If my truck ever gets built Thanks for the advice regarding the airbag lights.
  3. I have seen online that it is not that uncommon for people to buy a leather steering wheel from a Lariat and put on a lower trim truck. I see there are also heated steering wheels and wondering if anybody knows if those can be added to an XLT premium package truck. (comes with heated cloth seats). I assume the wheel would fit fine, but would my truck run the heat feature based on having the seat heat turned on, or is it a separate switch specifically for the steering wheel heat, and therefore a different wiring harness
  4. I agree 7.3 hasn't been around long enough to prove reliability...I guess I was trying to say I went to a gasser to avoid the un-reliability of diesel emmissions. Time will tell, but the 7.3 appears to be built right. The 6.2 is certainly the tried n true engine, and realistically, its probably still more than enough engine to suit my needs in a truck. I think the 7.3 upgrade is more fulfilling a want of mine rather than a need.
  5. One more thing...I also do snow removal and very much prefer plowing with my 5.4 f250 over the Cummins. With so much back and forth movement, my dodge is very sluggish while the turbo is spooling back up . Not sure what new diesel trucks are like, but that one second delay gets annoying. The 5.4 seems very agile and is always ready to change directions. (5.4 is underpowered in every other use, but I've found its great for plowing)
  6. I went with 7.3 because of the lesser upfront cost, cost of ownership, and reliability. I also like the fact that you can look down into the engine compartment and see the ground on each side. There's tons of room to work on it if the need ever arises. (Definitely NOT the case with the 6.7...I cant imagine the labor involved to make simple repairs to that engine.) My current truck is a 2004 Dodge cummins and I love it. It has tons of power, its reliable, and is inexpensive to maintain. Now with all the emissions garbage, I wouldn't touch a new diesel with a 10' pole. I have several friends with newer diesels and they are seemingly constantly dealing engine/emissions issues - I don't have time for that. I believe my Dodge is rated somewhere around 600 lb-ft and 325 HP and it will pull anything I put behind it, and usually without even knowing its back there. Even pulling tractors up mountains it performs very admirably. With the new 6.7 engines, I cant help but wonder why anyone would need that kind of power..(yes, I know because its fun, and if money is of little concern, why not have fun with it).....But if you actually need that kind of power, you are probably towing bulldozers or heavy equipment and should probably be using something like an F700 series truck or dump truck at that point. My dodge with 2/3 the power of a new 6.7 will chew up tires in a hurry compared to my F250 5.4, and it doesn't seem like I drive aggressive either, just the back tires go down very quickly, and I bet that they would wear even more quickly with a 6.7. So, at least for me I believe 7.3 will perform just fine and it will save me all the expense of owing a diesel. It is my believe that what very little bit you save in fuel cost doesn't come close to covering the other expenses that come with it
  7. A new excursion would be awesome, and it is also on my wish list!
  8. Thank you for the pricing info! I may have considered it for my XLT at that price, but I also got the premium package which gives chrome, and heated cloth seats. I really want the heated seats and the chrome package was the only way to get them. And i'm fairly sure you can't order the packages together
  9. I have wondered the cost of the XLT black appearance package is. It is not on the build n price yet. I didn't even ask my salesman about it because it seems like it was several thousand dollars on the Lariat for 2021.
  10. I think you are correct that the enhanced features are not available on Superduty yet. I was hoping for some sort of lane keeping assistance where the vehicle pulls itself back into the lane, but on superdutys, it is called lane keeping alert. I asked the salesman and he confirmed that the truck will only alert me when its drifting from the lane but will not help correct the situation. That would be cool if it was only a software update away but I imagine you would at least need adaptive steering on the truck to have any hopes adding those features with new software.. Even then, I would assume its a long shot.
  11. That is some good information, thank you. I too have an XLT on order, and the upgraded lights seem to come at a very high cost. I'll try the stock lights first.
  12. As I'm sure many of us can relate, I have had a truck on order since early April that's not scheduled yet. One thing I worry about is if quality control has suffered due to the ongoing manufacturing difficulties. Mainly I wonder about the chip issues and how likely it is that quality of them has decreased for whatever reason whether it would be due to switching suppliers, making due with different chips, making them faster, or if Ford would accept lower standards for faster production. I wonder if the new vehicles could be full of glitches in the long run. I don't normally go for extended warranties, but I'm seriously considering it purely because of the times we're in. I imagine starting and stopping factories can cause a lot of problems also. I'm not an expert in the auto industry and was just wondering what other people think
  13. Are you guys looking for replacements purely for the better looks, or do the factory lights provide poor illumination? Asking because I ordered a new truck with halogen lights. Also, does anybody know if you can replace factory halogen lights with factory LED lights plug and play, or is it not that easy
  14. I'm not sure. The dodge dealer in my town always seems to have quite a few trucks on the lot but the Chevy dealer has had none for quite some time. At one point our chevy dealer only had 3-4 new vehicles total on the lot when they typically had 50 or 60. It looked like they were going out of business until they stocked the lot with dozens of used vehicles. The Ford dealers near me haven't had much, but there's generally been an f150 or two on the lot, but certainly no super duties anywhere
  15. I agree it's aggregating and completely wrong to schedule a day old order before March orders. I can only hope that is generally a rare situation.
  16. I did call marketing dept for the first time almost 2,weeks ago, and the representative seemed confident that it would be scheduled within a couple weeks, based on what she has been seeing. Also spoke with the dealer on Friday last week, and they too were hopeful it would get scheduled soon. Salesman said they had a 3/31 order get picked up for scheduling last week, and that mine was the next one in line within their ordered vehicles, so it gives me confidence they are trying to serve customers fairly and in order in which the vehicle orders were received.
  17. Mine has none of the packages noted that currently prevent scheduling
  18. I ordered a 250 xlt supercab April 12, and not scheduled yet
  19. Lucky you, my April 12 order still processing
  20. I got a center console refrigerator for mine. My truck is a long ways out yet, but the fit/finish of others I've seen looks like oem quality. Occasionally there is a site-wide sale of 10-20% off https://www.dometic.com/en-us/food-and-beverage/refrigerators/truck-refrigerators/dometic-ccf-t-256718
  21. I too wanted camel cloth interior in my ordered F250 xlt.
  22. I ordered on 4/12, and received confirmation of order email from Ford on 6/9. No word on scheduling yet. F250 supercap short box 7.3 xlt with premium package with pto provision
