  1. I have been on the build and price page several times and cannot believe they don't even have pictures of anything loaded in the page yet for everything lariat and below, which I believe are the only trims that can be ordered at the moment. It doesn't show anything other than a super duty logo for interior and exterior. I think I read somewhere recently that they have over 150,000 orders already, which must be approaching the production capacity for the model year, assuming it will be a short production year. Being a new style, I wouldn't want to make an order without seeing what it would look like first. They only just recently added pictures of the wheels. Just seems like they could step up the effort in that department for such an important vehicle segment.
  2. I just quickly glanced at the order guide... It appears satellite radio is not standard on XLT or below. That really surprises me. Looks like it is an option for XLT
  3. Regarding the adaptive steering, I have never had it. My truck is an XLT and it wasn't available on that trim level. If it was, I would have ordered it, and I would have waited for it to become available. The steering effort required is probably one of the bigger annoyances I have with my truck.
  4. I believe the plow prep adds 400# capacity to the front springs, and in the order guide, there is a warning that it will negatively affect the ride quality. I got the prep package because I plow our large commercial property with a very large snow plow in the 1200# range
  5. I have a 22 F250 with 7.3 and love it. When hauling our 24' camper, the truck really doesn't even feel like its towing anything. I think the 6.8 would still be more than enough for most campers. My truck has both a camper and snow plow prep packages, so I think its basically a 350 with the 250 badging. It is generally not a bad ride on the road, but the big bumps at slow speeds really toss you around ( like entering commercial driveways at an angle). From a ride and comfort perspective, I really wish I could get by with an F150 but my work demands a heavier truck. The biggest difference you will notice is of course the ride, but also the steering effort for maneuvering at slow speeds. It seems like it takes a lot of steering to make tight turns in a super duty, compared to my dad's F150. I have never had an f250 with the standard (lighter) suspension but I suspect it would not be too bad of a ride. I suspect the 20" wheels will hurt that cause compared to the 18" ones though. From what I've read online, the 7.3 doesn't seem to be much worse off for mpg than the 6.2 was. When towing our camper very gently at speeds in the 65 neighborhood, it will get high 8's. If you can cruise empty on the highway, it will get high 14's. Where I think the 7.3 hurts you is just the short trips and frequent idling. The average mileage I get in my truck is about 8mpg. My driving is generally within 5 miles of home, lower speeds, mostly without a trailer, and the MPG readout usually anywere from 7-9MPG. I believe smaller displacement would likely improve the efficiency for my type of driving, but maybe not for someone who does mostly highway miles. Gotta say, I LOVE the power of the 7.3, and it would be hard for me to part with it. Mine also has 3.55 gearing and I'm very happy wit it, and I have no idea why so many people get the 4.30. I've heard a few people comment how the 4.30 gearing makes the truck a little jumpy when changing gears from reverse to forward. Regarding the 6.8 specs, If I remember correctly, during the reveal I think they said it would be higher specs than the outgoing 6.2, so that would put it somewhere around the 400 hp range.
  6. Purely out of curiosity, I have been seeing many trucks on youtube (mainly recently built 2022 xl trims) with the upper glove box area without a door, just a finished cubby hole. I thought all trucks had the gray door covering this area. My 2022 XLT has the door. Is this how all 2022's come now, or just the XL trims? I had thought XL's had the door last year.
  7. I just received a $2000 offer in the email today for F150, superduty, expedition. I had also received a $3000 one back in july I think. But both came after I already got my F250 about a year ago. I like my truck well enough, and costs have increased enough that I don't anticipate I'll be able to use my offer. Plus, I'm not quite a fan of the new body style yet. I really dislike how the front box steps look...I know it would be a nice feature, but hate how they look
  8. Ford just emailed me another teaser picture for tonights reveal
  9. In the promotional video posted about the reveal event, it looks like they got rid of the plastic filler plates behind the door handles. I like that, and if that color is indeed abyss gray, I may have to see about ordering a 2023. I love my white 2022 f250, but loved the abyss gray on the f150s when it was offered. I wish I could have gotten it on a superduty
  10. Now that some time has passed and some more people have their trucks by now, thought I'd bump this thread to see if anyone else has experienced the issue? I am going in for an oil change next week and the salesperson said they would try to figure it out.
  11. Many Toyotas do have that but ours does not. It was not on the window sticker, and we did not pay the dealer for it either.
  12. And regarding the rail dust and iron spots, I suppose that can happen, but I wonder if it is more likely the iron that wears off of the highway snowplows. The spots are way more concentrated on the tailgate
  13. Thank you all for the replies. I have heard of ceramic, and I'll probably end up doing it, but I have never had a vehicle that was so seemingly impossible to wash. Our Camry has not been ceramic coated either, and nothing sticks to it. Water will bead up in huge beads and slide right off. I guess my point here is that Toyota seems to have done a much better job in the paint department. On my truck, i have even noticed the paint is thin on the front of the hood inside the super duty letters, and you can sort of see through it to the primer underneath. I will definitely check out the products mentioned above.
  14. I've had my 2022 for almost 11 months now. I like the truck, but I am questioning the paint and finish quality. It seems like everything sticks to it, and it is very difficult to wash off. I usually wash my vehicles by hand, and you really have to scrub hard to get the truck clean. Also, there are many little rust spots all over the surface that I can't get off. Has anyone else observed these problems? My wife has a 2022 Camry and you can almost wash the car by simply rinsing it off
  15. Does this mean the Lariat grill is for sale? If so and if it is a chrome one, I may be interested
  16. Thanks for posting. I also have an XLT, but I like the high flow grill much better. I would like to change mine, but I assume that is a very expensive grill
  17. I have never had a 6.2. Did your 6.2 do about the same or any significantly better mileage over the new 7.3?
  18. My truck is a supercab f250 4x4 7.3, 3.55. I too am disappointed in the mpg. I generally drive mostly rural roads, shorter trips, and a 50/50 mix of light towing and driving empty. My tanks are averaging between 9 and 10 mpg. If you get it on the highway cruising for hours, going the speed limit, it will get high 15's. On a cross-country trip towing a 17' aluminum enclosed trailer with one atv in it, I was averaging 8 mpg, driving easy with a strong headwind most of the way. It did get as low as 7 on that trip. This is about the same, or only very slightly better than my 2006 with 5.4 engine. I love the power of the new truck, but I'm not coming close to what others are reporting for mpg
  19. I have never had AS, but several months ago when I got my truck I was asking the same question, and the replies from a couple people said they would want to have it. I have a new XLT truck, and I was hoping the steering would be easier than on my 2006 truck, which seemed to take a lot of effort to turn tight at slow speeds. But my new truck is about the same as my old truck was, and requires seemingly a lot of rotations and effort to get in and out of parking spaces, backing trailers...etc. I also do a lot of snow plowing which requires a lot of steering as well, and I think if it would have been available in my XLT trim, I probably would have waited for it. My dad has 2012 F150, and the steering in that truck is almost effortless. I'm not sure if a superduty with AS would ever steer like an F150, but if it was somewhere in between, it would be worth it for me.
  20. I also got the same PCO today, but mine was about 6 months too late for me. I guess if 2023 trucks are released soon, and if I happen to like them, this would make the upgrade less costly, but I typically keep my vehicles for 20 years, so mine will probably go to waste.
  21. I mounted a beacon light to mine with double sided 3M moulding tape. Just an inch long piece on each corner has a very solid hold. They make steel brackets that screw into the 3rd brake light for mounting magnetic things, but I was afraid of leaks around the brake light, and it also would have made my beacon light taller. I was hoping to get my truck in the garage by mounting my light how I did, and it just barely fits, but only with the factory road tread tires which I use in the winter. The stock goodyear tires from Ford are a couple inches taller than the highway tread 18" stock tires, and my truck does not go in the garage with the goodyears on.
  22. I am in Michigan, and chose to have my truck professionally undercoated. I also don't like the idea of a hard undercoating. I'm not sure the product they used, but it is a greasy substance, the consistency is like honey . They remove all the interior panels and coat the inside of the doors, fenders, tailgate, and hood. They also spray it everywhere on the underside of the truck. It oozes and drips everywhere for the first several weeks, or the first few warm days. It makes a big mess when it drips all down the grill, running boards, bumpers but it does clean up well with a rag and wd-40. Even though its messy, I believe it offers the best protection from the salt, and since I usually keep my vehicles for 20 years, it is worth the initial mess. Aluminum may not rust like steel, but I would think it could still corrode after enough years in the salt
  23. Its just added expense down the road to replace two batteries, two alternators. Also, its a significant amount of weight to carry around that takes away from payload. It wont' help fuel economy carrying the extra weight around, and spinning one more component on the engine...(I'm sure the decreased mpg is probably insignificant and likely not noticeable, but over the life of the truck, I imagine it would add a little fuel cost). I guess I believe why have it if I don't need it. My plows have worked fine in the past with one battery, and even on this truck with 2 batteries, the plow lights still dim just as much while lifting the plow
