  1. So I see Ice-capades posted Ford " delivery milestones glossary " which says Plant Hold ....... I have a few questions if anyone knows the answers I would appreciate them sharing if Ford will let you. I have a vehicle "in production" on Ford Order Tracking. Does the fact that it is in some form of delivery hold mean the vehicle is basically built but they can't deliver it for some reason defined in the glossary above? Or could a "plant hold" be a chip hold? Next: My vehicle has been on plant hold for 50 days with multiple ETAs passing by. Last week I talked with Ford and they said they saw no holds and that it was still progressing in production with and ETA of next week. (while still showing up on hold on online trackers. They couldn't tell me if ETA meant estimated build date or delivery. Does anyone know what Ford customers service means when they say ETA (besides perhaps don't call us for 2 more weeks)? Is it ETAS for a built date or am I built and in some stage of delivery?
  2. If planning on visiting in the next 2 days there is a production hold due to shortage. The tour is OK but not as fun as when it is running. I went today cause I had a blend date but found out that at the end of last night's shift they are no hold for 3 days. https://www.thehenryford.org/visit/plan-your-visit/tickets-and-hours/#nonproduction
  3. Someone else here may have known this and this may be Old news but didn't find any reference to it listed. So I went to take the river rouge factory tour today. Had a blend date for today. I didn't really expect to see "my" truck built but thought it would be cool to be there the date it was put together. The line was closed down. Talking to the tour guides it was an unscheduled stopage due to supply shortages. It is supposedly lasting till Friday when the line will restart. The tour was still pretty cool but a little disappointed. Lots of different trucks half produced on the line. I would have loved to know that it was going to be down when I bought my tickets last week but when I checked the non-production dates at that time April 5th wasn't on the list. It is now though. After 8 Months wait what is another3 days? https://www.thehenryford.org/visit/plan-your-visit/tickets-and-hours/#nonproduction The non-production dates for 2022 are: All Sundays December 24, 2021 – January 2, 2022 January 17 February 11-12 February 14-19 February 21- 24 April 4 -7 April 15-18 May 28-30 July TBD September 3-5 November 24-27 December 24, 2022 – January 8, 2023
  4. I too really liked the idea of the feature. With the F150 I haven't heard any official sources clearly state it. I have talked to my dealer who has talked to his regional sales rep. At this time neither of them can even answer if it is a full removal or just a prep kit like they are having placed on the Mach E. (see the mach e forums.) Expedition and Navigator also have the removal option. I hate to assume but if they are calling it a prep kit on the mach e and they are calling it a removal for the f 150 I worry it won't be added later. At the same time the ford authority web page had some articles stating that ford will ship vehicles without functions that are not safety related and they will be able to be added when parts are available. "As is the case with the Mach-E and F-150, dealers will be able to retroactively install Active Park Assist 2.0 when the necessary components to do so become available, though it’s unclear when, exactly, that may take place." https://fordauthority.com/2022/03/2022-ford-expedition-will-also-drop-active-park-assist-2-0-from-lineup/
  5. Thanks for the info. I am excited to get my truck and make some road trips to see how it does. Using optics I can see how road glare could confuse it. as well as shadows. So that would be interesting to know as well. I did a search and Ford Canada says it has extensive coverage including in some national parks but could find no details either. I live in the Detroit metro area and before the Covid would cross over occasionally and would love to be able to bluecruise to Toronto when things opened up.
  6. Thanks, I will have to see if that is true with the f150. My window sticker shows active park assist removal and a credit but no prep kit. Guess they may not have it for the f150. I will talk to my dealer. Not that it will make a difference in whether I take it or not.
  7. I know this is in the mach E forum but it applies to f150 buyers too. So I have been looking for documentation that it has actually been replaced with a prep kit. I have seen the news releases and posts here that it will be removed and a credit applied. Does anyone have documentation that it is actually something that we will ever be able to get added back to my build that is happening in the next few weeks? I heard rumors on another forum that there is a plan of it being added within the year, but with ford speculating that the chip shortage will run well into next year I don't know how much to believe that. I get why they did it and have no resentments. If they can get my my truck without it in the next few months I will be happy, but just would love to also have the full functionality of what I ordered.
  8. As I understand it the blend date is when all the parts start to come together and the build date is the date the build is finished but the moderators may know better. Also there is a very detailed order process page that may have the information in it. I can't remember where I read that the blend date was actually when the drivetrain and body are scheduled to come together. That is when I am planning on visiting the rouge tour and trying to pretend I will see my F150 built. I have seen people post that their blend date changed on their window sticker too. I got an in production today and am awaiting a window sticker to show up in Ford order tracking. My guess is it will show up in the next day or two.
  9. Hello, I am just curious if anyone has been using bluecruise and how you like it. Plusses? minuses? I know it doesn't work with lane markings obscured. Does yours work at night? Thanks.
  10. So I am going to be putting on my rampant speculation hat here,? but I bet the parts of the lightning plant that they would be willing to show are not much different than what you can see in the ICE plant. I would guess the big differences would be "secret" for a few years. I am holding out hope still that a limited tour could be created. I never underestimate the power of doing it for the publicity while hiding the proprietary stuff behind walls. It is more about the experience than seeing every detail.
  11. I have seen some vehicles going over the hill on the test track in years past but will have to look around more next time I am there. Thanks. My favorite car from the museum is always a toss up between the Gurney gt40 and the lotus. I have never been to the car shows there but have heard they are amazing.
  12. I live close so I plan to visit with the kids the week of April 4th. That is when my truck will be built barring any more delays. I know the odds of me being able to identify my own build are slim. To many moving parts and trucks?. They only show parts of the production, but it is still awesome watching it all come together. You have to get timed tickets for entry. So reserve ahead after planning around build schedules, lunch times, and shift changes. It is mostly self guided and self paced. They still sell tickets for when the line is down due to shift cuts or lunch time. This is still interesting but clearly not nearly as cool as when everything is up and running. I took my father in law a few years before the covid and we spent 3 hours in there. The kids were going nuts and so we left but both of us could have spent twice as long. I too would love to see the lightning plant but bet that won't be part of the tour for several years if ever. Now forgive me for veering slightly off topic but someone else brought up the Henry Ford Museum and if you are coming you might want to make time to see this other stuff. I highly recommend the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village. I know it is not everyone's thing but I could easily spend days in there. The museum is dedicated to the industrial revolution and has a huge collection of things from early 1760s steam engine to modern vehicles. Planes trains, lightbulb machines and all kinds of industrial stuff. They have huge coal locomotives and a great collection of automobiles. Pre-covid they used to disassemble and reassemble a model T every day. The kids could go and help put a light on or insert a bolt. It was really cool for them.( I don't know if they still do that.) They also have an IMAX theater. Greenfield village is also part of the Henry Ford Museum sight site and is a great educational place when it is open in the summer. I think it is a separate ticket if you don't have an annual pass. They are more focused on daily life of peoples in the 18th and 19th century. They have glass blowing furnaces and make projects while you watch. They have working historic farms being managed with historic techniques. If your a city person and don't have much exposure to animals they have a great petting zoo and stable. If you like crafts there is section where they do demonstrations of a more industrial pottery production as would have been done in the period. They also have blacksmiths. You can ride in a model T. You may be lucky enough to be the kid who gets to use a train turntable to spin a 64 ton locomotive engine by hand. They have historic houses that have been brought in from around the world like Thomas Edison's lab. The restaurants are pretty good too. They serve historic recipes and some standard American fare. The Eagle tavern can be hard to get a reservation for but is worth it. Finally look at the schedules online. They often have old time baseball games, car rallies, civil war era canon and cavalry drills and stuff like that. https://www.thehenryford.org/
  13. Husky is a brand of multiple aftermarket products such as wheel well liners, tray style floor mats, and mud flaps. I am looking at the Husky wheel well liners for my 2022 f150 when it gets built. I also want to have mud flaps added. Looked at the OEM ones and they don't seem to cover as much of the inner bed on the inside of the wheel well as much. In my humble opinion, I think the husky brand looks much nicer because of this.
  14. Yep, That is why I say thanks for posting your information so we aren't completely in the dark.
