  1. Bit of a tight fit, but it works! Who know what would have happened if I didn't get an update from you, you're a huge asset to the community and thank you again. Enjoy the new year as well and stay safe!
  2. Salesman has been out for over a week with COVID, he's in today. You bet your ass he's getting a call. Thanks for everything, and I'll post a pic once picked up!
  3. Hey Cyberdman, hope you had a relaxing holiday. Wondering if you wouldn't mind providing an updated for me. VIN: 1FTFW1E52NFA39230 Order Code: T150 Thanks a bunch, Ryan
  4. Interesting and insightful…us consumers are all in the dark here without trackers and such so anything is helpful. Appreciate it! Happy holidays.
  5. Ok ok you win! I went back and re read them. VIN: 1FTFW1E52NFA39230 Order Code: T150
  6. Sorry I thought you said anyone that didn’t get an update this week could get one. My apologies.
  7. Hey, figured I’d bump this up to get a check before you pack it in for the year! My scheduled build date was yesterday so not expecting much, but you never know. have a safe and happy holiday!
  8. Learned something new. I often forget there are other countries in the world. ?
  9. You reinvent the wheel when the wheel stops spinning. I agree a heated steering wheel chip doesn't need to be on the razor's edge, but a chip manufacturer makes way more money on a modern chip than he would on an older one - at a very simple level, the same size die he could cut many more modern chips than he could older ones . Part of the reason this shortage even happened (outside of the fires and whatnot), is the factories prioritize tooling for higher margin chips...aka the ones in consumer electronics. There's a massive market for auto chips obviously, it seems as though OEMs are not inclined to dump money into R&D for new tech - so the exclusive supplier relationship seems to be the route they're going. I just worry about who holds all the cards there.
  10. An amazing service you provide here, and I really appreciate any insight you might be able to share on my order. I do know it was at one point scheduled for week of 12/6 on 11/18, but that's last I heard. VIN: 1FTFW1E52NFA39230 Order Code: T150 All the best, Ryan
  11. Ford GT up 250% YoY! Maybe I'm super naïve, but I had no idea Lincoln represented that few vehicles as a % of FMC total, almost makes you wonder what the point is. What I do know though is the margins on those Navigators are quite appealing.
  12. CA also has more aggressive EV initiatives than the rest of the country, 2035 is last year you can buy a non zero-emissions vehicle in CA. Not saying people are buying them for that reason, but I just think the population is more receptive to buying them than the rest of the country. Gas is about $3.50/gal here in NJ, but I get the sense that owning an EV around here is still more of a status symbol than it is an economic decision. Roads are way too crowded, way too many people in general, not enough chargers to really support widespread adoption. At the end of the day, 60k cars on the road is a drop in the bucket - but I've always thought if anyone was going to move the EV needle it'd be Ford. They're doing it right with all of the different offerings in all of the different segments.
  13. Yea, I do think a lot of it is just education. I'm happy to report that I've shared some knowledge from these boards with my salesrep, mainly as it relates to supply contraints. Granted it's a smaller dealership, but it's been tough to get information from him at times. I feel like they should just get an alert of a status change for an ordered vehicle - that way they can communicate it to the customer. If buying a car in 2021 has taught anyone anything, it's that customer service is more important than ever. Most of them try, and that's half the battle.
  14. Assuming you meant 3.5EB not 3.7 ?, but I was in the same boat as you. Actually had my sales rep change my order twice...5.0-->3.5-->back to 5.0. Even then I wanted to switch it back, but got my VIN and now I'm happy that happened. I just sold my '16 GT, but it was the best car I've ever owned and the motor gave me literally zero issues. Yes it ticked, but a full catback will do wonders to make that hard to hear.
  15. I think that's the common link with all EVs. The more Ford can advocate priority relationships with battery vendors, the better. I truly feel between chips and batteries...if you can't make your own, you've got to have exclusive partnerships. 100k should be easy for them in 2022.

    5.0 "tick"

Ceratec if it really bothers you, and call it a day. My '16 GT had the tick basically from the first oil change until I sold it this past summer. That said, I have a F-150 5.0 on order and fully expect it to tick too. It's really a badge of honor in my opinion, I understand folks want their $50k car to sound smooth and quiet...but they're just not.
  17. I think it's been selling really well. I only know a few people that have one, and they're huge fans. I have my own feelings on it, but I think Ford has something with this one. Plus the media blitzing has to be working.
  18. It'll be interesting to see the lasting effects of the shortage. Auto manufacturers are using ancient chips, and I guess they're hesitant to sink of bunch of money into R&D for more modern chips - but I have to imagine all of this could have been avoided if the technology matched the times. I remember reading an article about this, and a chip manufacturer was basically saying that the chips most modern cars use are much much larger than say a 5nm chip...basically he can cut much more on a single die than he could for the chips these cars need. Seems like OEMs are going for the strategic partnership route than to adapt to 2021 tech, we'll see how that works when a chip vendor holds all the cards....$$.
  19. I don't think it will, I feel like the truck segment is one of the most fragmented in the auto industry. Plenty of it is looks, but the Maverick isn't close to as capable as the Ranger with respect to towing. That said, price point is probably the biggest barrier to the truck segment and the Maverick smashes through that.
  20. I had to threaten the dealership with cancelling the order and providing a screenshot of an order code/sales code (the multiple times I’ve asked explicitly for the order code, he thought I was asking for the VIN) to get it but finally got the information and immediately after that-got an email confirming the order. No information on priority code as his picture cut that information off…but at least I know Ford has the order now.
  21. Granted it's an F150 not an Escape, but I placed my order over a week ago and still nothing from Ford. Reached out to dealership today and he told me the order was submitted, but not yet confirmed by Ford...I don't know if I believe him or not as I've seen many people get confirmations very soon after the order. He doesn't have an order number/sales code combo for me to reach out to Ford with. Tried calling them yesterday and they need that information.
  22. Hi All - brand new here, jumping over from Ram and ordered a 2022 King Ranch last week and am exceptionally excited. Question I had was about the actual dealership ordering process, are dealerships only allowed to submit an order to Ford at certain times based on allocation or some other restraint? I haven't gotten an email confirmation or anything and we came to agreement and sent him the options and stuff last Thursday 10/28. Giving him some breathing room as I probably annoyed him leading up to the green light to order. Just wasn't sure of the process, though I know a lot more about it thanks to the sticky on this post. Any help is much appreciated!
