  1. Hey all - I'm at 175 days since the order for my F-350 was submitted back in June. I got the VIN a month or so later, but the build was pushed 6 times. The truck finally went into "In Production" status last Thursday, 12/9/2021, according to the info I got from the dealer. Fast forward --- Went to the dealer today to get a status update since it's been a week and rumor has it that it should be built by now. The dealer gives me the Navy Airman Salute and says it's still in production and I can't tell you anything else. I do not buy it. Sorry. Not being a jerk about it but there has to be some kind of status update I can get from somewhere. Can someone tell me how to get a current status on the build of my truck? I have heard the plant in KY shuts down for 2 or 3 weeks later this month and if the truck is not built and on the rails headed to me before they shut down that I will be waiting well into January for the truck. I need to make plans based on when I can reasonably expect the truck to show up. Thanks - a retired Navy Chief just looking for answers... Update January 7th, 2022 My truck was shipped to CSX Baldwin rail yard and arrived on December 27th. The rail car has since been unloaded but now I cannot get any further updates from CSX. Dealer is not cooperating - says Ford has not been updating tracker. ETA for delivery is scheduled for Thursday, January 13th. What do you think the chances are that I will get the truck delivered on time? It has been on order since June 25, 2021. Any way for me to get a current update on the status? Thanks.
  2. THanks. I will get with them about that tomorrow. Thanks. I will get with them on that tomorrow.
  3. Received word that the truck shipped out on a train headed to me here in Florida. How do I find out shipping info so that I can track movement as it heads down here to me? Thanks.
  4. Thanks. I've used XPlan in the past with vehicles off a dealer lot, but had never ordered a vehicle before. THanks again.
  5. Thank you for the information. Have a great vacation. I'm on a two-week holiday break myself.
  6. Order: R897 VIN: 1FT8W3BT0NEC83617 Thanks in advance.
  7. On 12/15/2021 at 1:57 PM, catastrofe said: Not me...tracking still shows "In Production". I did speak with Ford marketing and they told me I should be "optimistic" as my delivery ETA is still 12/20 and not "TBD". My dealer pulled my VVR and it shows delivery between 12/19 and 12/25. I can't even get my dealer to pull and show me an updated VVR. Talked to them in person today after texting him earlier in the day and he just said it's still In Production and would not show me updated VVR. On top of that, I just found out on another forum topic here that the Kentucky SD plant is down this week. So if that IS true then it answers why I have no apparent status change. I hope the comment about the KY plant being down is just someone messing with me. Later.
  8. Oh, this just keeps getting more and more depressing for me. My last official scheduled date was 12/13, but my truck finally went into In Production on 12/09. I was expecting it would be built by now, but likely not shipped yet. Now I suspect it's not even begun being built. All I can do is continue to wait. Thanks, anyway, for the info.
  9. Oooh, sounds like someone with money to burn. I wish I could do that but depending on how you do it the negative equity will kill you eventually if you don't keep an eye on your resales. I bought a 2021 F250 XLT in March this year, turned around, and ordered an F350 in June. Per the dealer when I ordered it they said they would take my F250 off my hands as a trade-in at almost what I bought it for it. I likely would lose very little on the deal since inventories are so strained these days. Fast forward 5 1/2 months, I went to the dealer this past Friday, the day after my F350 went into production, and was quoted about 14K less trade-in value for the F250 than what I owe on it! I have NO idea what I am going to do now. Selling privately would get me more I think, but all the paperwork and legal mess make me want to not hassle with it. I have about a month to figure something out. Stuff is so complicated these days involving vehicle sales. Frustrated in Florida....
  10. I noticed I was not receiving any emails from Ford on my 2022 F350 order. Since the vehicle finally went into production on 12/09 I have been monitoring several Ford-related forums and read how others were getting updates from FORD. Asked my sales rep earlier this week about it and reminded him I had submitted my email with my order back in June. He came back telling me that the Inventory Manager likely had not included my email when the order was submitted. NOW I spend a lot of time waiting around and checking build status on Ford.com for data I could have been getting automatically as the vehicle progresses through its build and shipment process. Aggravating, but then if I do not take the truck when it finally arrives (which will NOT happen in my case) the dealer will mark it up and still end up selling it. Frustrated but still looking forward to getting the truck and FINALLY taking my fifth-wheel RV out on trips with the family.
  11. My son has a Model 3 and did not opt for the autonomous driving option. We had a long discussion about it and in the end as a new driver was not willing to pay the overpriced price for that option. He opted for a long-range model instead. He still can add the hands-free at a late date but I'm really hoping he doesn't. Call me old-fashioned but I've been driving for 43 years and still do not fully feel comfortable taking my hands off the wheel when driving, even to check if my front tires are pulling to one side or the other. This mess with the Tesla lawsuit just cements my thoughts it was a way for Tesla to make money off of individuals overcome with the technology of the car, and not taking into account that software malfunctions and hardware breaks. Hopefully, this all works out for the best, and Tesla figures out a way to make it safer.
  12. Can someone explain to me when the Kentucky SD plant closes at the end of the year? I have heard it's 2 or 3 weeks they'll be down for a scheduled break. And, how that closing impacts completed vehicles potentially awaiting shipment? Not trying to be ignorant, just trying to judge receipt of the truck I am expecting in the next month is all. Thanks.
  13. My current 2020 Explorer is a Lease but my F-250 is retail. We went with the lease on the Explorer only because we needed something NOW when our Escape got too small after our granddaughter was born in late 2019. I did a 15K annual mileage contract because in prior leased vehicles my wife killed the mileage on them But NOW, actually, I wish I had done 12k Instead. Why? Because since we got it in March of 2020 we have only put about 12K on it. Mind you COVID put the brakes on a lot of driving, but still, I am overpaying for something I am going to have to trade in or turn around and buy. I seriously doubt I'll buy it due to the issues we have had with it since day one. I love the model but too many electronics-related issues with it. I'm really looking forward to the lease ending on it so I can find something else. The wife LOVES the Aviator but it's really just the Explorer all dressed up. We owned an MKC when they first hit the market and loved it. But it was smaller inside than the Escape and we just could not afford the MKX at the time. I like the Ford/Lincoln lineup but wish they had kept more than just the Mustang as a sedan. We'll stay with Ford just not sure what our next step will be for a family vehicle at this point.
  14. Back when I first entered the Navy in the early 80's I remember all the stick-shift vans we had on base. I grew up and learned on sticks but it was funny listening to the sailors who would "grind them till they found them" trying to shift those things. Nowadays a standard is almost unheard from. Anyway, glad to hear Ford is going to be a vehicle of choice for the government again. My preferred brand all the time for any vehicle, not including the Harley I used to ride.
  15. So hypothetically speaking, if a special ordered vehicle goes into production after say several months and several delays due to some unknown reasons, but the suspicion is the chip shortage, would or could said vehicle be delayed during its build time due to chips? My reasoning is that if it was delayed for chips initially would Ford start the build process on it without first ensuring there is enough inventory of chips to complete the build on the said vehicle? Asking for a friend...Thanks.
