  1. Although the last two trucks I've own had integrated electric brake controllers, I had a Tekonsha brake controller at one time and it worked great. They seem to be almost an industry standard, plus reasonably priced.
  2. Well if Ford is worried about the liability of a collision caused by by their Trailer Navigation system, then there is no purpose in having it in the first place. I don't see any advantage of having it whatsoever over their normal Nav system.
  3. Apparently Ford made the special "Trailer Navigation" feature only available to "select" vehicles, including the F-150. Which makes zero sense whatsoever since it's the truck least likely to need such a feature when you don't see that many of them pulling a 13.5' 5th Wheel. That's been one of my biggest beefs about the Super Duty series is that it seems last on the list for technology upgrades. And that's not just Sync-4, but other features as well.
  4. Just to let you know, I had this TSB performed on my 22 F-350 last Thursday and it corrected the problem with the hard 2-1 downshift when in Tow/Haul mode. Now I have to let the tranny do another "learn" cycle but I think once it's done the 10-speed transmission will do much better overall. There is always the possibility that the TCM/PCM reprogramming may have corrected other bugs. Still love my truck. A few minor issues here and there, but nothing that would give me second thoughts. Here is the link for the TSB: https://dot.report/bulletins/10215617
  5. Well the TSB number that I'm aware of for this issue is 22-2267. Here is a short from ARod, a YouTube streamer who focuses on the 6.7L Diesel trucks: https://youtube.com/shorts/-mRzPA3pziM?feature=share When on vacation a couple of weeks ago pulling the 5th wheel, I definitely noticed the problem especially on a 2-1 downshift when we were in Tow/Haul mode. So I have the SD scheduled for the shop in August for a TCM/PCM reprogramming.
  6. I have a 60 gallon S&B fuel tank on my diesel F-350 and filled it up today at Costco at $5.79/gallon. Although it had about a third of a tank, it still cost me $254.00. Talk about feeling the pain at the pump. Sheesh. One thing is for sure, after our vacation pulling the 5th wheel to Yosemite, I'm parking the truck until fuel prices come back to some sense of normalcy.
  7. You also want to make sure your dealer ordered your truck under the COVP (Customer Order Verification Program). They should have asked for your drivers license and email address so they could enter the information into the system when your ordered your truck. If they didn't order under the COVP, then you may never get a order verification from Ford. I would call your dealer and find out what's going on. When I ordered my Truck back in September, it only took a little over a week to get my order verification via email.
  8. I'm a big believer in using dielectric grease, especially for high humidity conditions like we experience here in the Pacific Northwest. I use it for my 5th wheel 7-pin trailer connection and the shore power connections for the 5th itself. It prevents corrosion and a high resistance connection that can cause your trailer issues.
  9. I think you misunderstand. The S&B 60 gallon tank completely replaces the OEM 34 gallon tank, so it uses the same sensor unit and filter. The only thing you have to do once the tank is replaced is to use Forscan to let your truck know you now have a 60 gallon tank.
  10. Like ScottK1 mentioned, I used Forscan to change the tank size for a 60 gallon tank so the DTE would be accurate. Plus I did a few other changes so that I would not get the double honk on exit (with engine running), security idle, Bambi mode, and a few others. My next mod will probably be Airlift 5000 air bags. I had those on my Duramax and they really smoothed out the ride when pulling the 5th wheel.
  11. The one I bought was a Redtiger 4K dashcam from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B098WVKF19?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details It has a few nice features like GPS tagging (optional), speed tagging (optional), continuous loop mode, etc. It came with a rear camera and I will probably install that later.Just wanted to get the forward facing done first. Also, many of these cameras operate from 5V so you need an adapter kit: https://www.amazon.com/Hardwire-Miofive-Converts-Installation-Protection/dp/B09JNMRGXK/ You can use a different one, but if you want to use "Parking Mode", (recording while ACC is off), you will need something like the above. It also comes with all of the fuse adapters that you might need (Micro2 for my Ford truck).
  12. Got the S&B 60 gallon tank installed at it's pretty sweet to see a DTE of 956 miles I know that doesn't mean much when towing, but it will give me much greater fuel security when I'm out on the road with the 5th wheel. If I start looking for a station when I'm at 1/4 of a tank, I know I have some time before I need to worry about it. The only bad part is when you go to the gas station and it takes 3 runs of the credit card to fill up the tank ? Still need to install the Covercraft Leatherette Custom Seat Covers but it's been too cold around here lately. It should be easier to install the covers once it warms up a bit around here. The dashcam was installed today. Fairly decent wiring job tucked inside the headliner, down the A-pillar, and to the BCM fuse box for the ACC & B+ connections. Here is a short sample of the video: DashCam.mp4
  13. Well like you said, it shouldn't be a reason for a dealer to withhold that information as it's just a automated system. I could see it if they were live people you were bothering, but not a computer. But it's a moot point anyway at least for me because the truck has been here for a couple of months now, so all is well
  14. I haven't Kirbdog but thumbs-up for giving your dealer a pat on the back.
  15. I don't think you have to worry. Most likely the firmware update will already be installed.
