rockford
Wondering if anyone knows the time of the announcement on Monday, Jan 23? Are the plants planning on shutting down for the announcement. From the communication we received from the plant manager, it doesn't sound like we will be shutting down. Here is what he said: "We are working on the plan to communicate the Way Forward announcement to all employees. I'll advise accordingly what our communication plans are." This does not sound to me like they are going to let us view it first hand, they will let us know after the fact. Has anyone else heard how they are going to communicate the announcement to us? I always read about our profit sharing in the local paper before Ford lets us know, so why should plant closings be any different?!

mrballsonya
In the Detroit news analyst article from yesterday, an employee from Wixom was stated as saying 9:00 A.M. for the announcement. Not really sure why it would be an hour earlier than most of the other plants??? Could be bad. Can anyone else verify that this time is correct for Wixom? butthead
The line up for monday. Bill Ford Jr. Jim Pedilla, Theater goes dark for Plant Manager to announce what will happen to their plant. The real deal. Mark Fields, I just hope one of the biggies has the balls to tell the people who will loose their jobs and not push it off on mid management. I wouldn't doubt it though! tincup2b
We at KCAP as well will be shutting down for the announcement. The management team is bringing in some technical guys to get everything ready so they can show the announcement via live feed. The time has been a big issue that I still have not seen the official one. First I heard 9:15am but then somebody thought that was Eastern time. Then somebody stated no that was central and it would be 10:15 eastern. I guess we will all know more come Monday. Like many have said on these posts. There is nothing we can do so enjoy your upcoming weekend with your families and be ready for the worst come Monday. Good Luck to all. Kzinti
Last word I got is that there will be several screens and areas set up for the whole plant to come to a halt to watch. Nobody leaves the plant, attendance is not required, however, you would certainly be deemed an idiot if you didn't catch what will likely be a defining pivotal moment in this century. Timing was 10:00 Eastern, 9:00 Central. Also hearing that all Dearborn Engineers are to be at their offices Monday, and anyone who doesn't make the cut, will be given time to clean out the desk, and then escorted off the premises. Let's just hope that Bill is following some of Kerkorian's Advisors information...
