range
An apples to oranges comparison, but interesting nonetheless given the number of vehicles sold by both companies. Nissan quarterly profits have fallen 54% to $595 million LINK. PAG profits have increased to $402 million for the same period. I guess that Ghosn guy was not all he was cracked up to be. NickF1011
It's REALLY apples to oranges when Nissan's $595M was net profit (post taxes) while the $402M from PAG was pre-tax profit. That's a HUGE difference.
range
Nissan's $595M came on $23.6B in sales. Its a good thing Ghosn did not accept Bill Ford's offer.

Lebanese have a lot going for them, hopefully they can hold off the moronic shias trying to turn them into another hate-filled dictatorship. TStag
The intersting thing about this figure for PAG is that it shows that once Jaguar has fully executed it's recovery plan then PAG will be a very nice little earner with strong brands. Selling any part of PAG would therefore be insane. So all of a sudden Jacques Nassers plan of buying PAG doesn't look quite so insane. Ford Global (excluding the USA) , PAG and Mazda are looking good. Frankly if Ford can't turn Ford USA around then it must split the company to ensure the survival of Ford international. That said I think the will fix things and then Ford will be looking good.
LincolnFan
Wait is the money earned from Aston's sale is added as a PAG profit?
TStag
Wait is the money earned from Aston's sale is added as a PAG profit? No I don't think it is as technically the sale isn't completed yet.

When does the sale of AM become final?
NickF1011
When does the sale of AM become final? I would assume Q2 would reflect that sale, but with all the corporate accounting tricks and what not, I wouldn't be surprised to see if the money from the sale was deferred to another quarter somehow.
