C&D Tests the 6.2L Harley-Davidson F-150
Blue II replied to GT-Keith's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
Well Mr JP Gludge first thing you need to understand is the 6.2 is a volume engine for the Super Duty (more applications coming). F-150 is limited. Most customers will opt for the N/A 3.7. That is the volume engine for the F-150. Now "apples to apples" a 6.2 DOHC will stomp a mud hole in the 5.0. -
6.2L vs 6.8L in commercial truck
Blue II replied to theoldwizard's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
While we will never see the likes of the 477 & 534 again, it's likely we will see a Hurricane HD. There will be a need for a HD gas DI turbocharged 7.0 engine. You'll likely see alternative fuel versions as well. -

Next-Gen Mustang to Have Global Design Input
Blue II replied to mackinaw's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
The Mustang has broad appeal. What it can't fit will be picked up by the Focus and Fiesta. There won't be that much difference in the 2014. It will not be so retro, however you will never mistake it from anything other than a Mustang. There will be plenty for everyone, boosted 4 & 6 and DI Coyote's. IRS for the soft set and Cobra Jet drag cars with 9" SRA's. You have quite a narrow view on what Ford actually tests for the market. -
Next-Gen Mustang to Have Global Design Input
Blue II replied to mackinaw's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
The Genesis is roughly the same size as the current Mustang. It's the same width 73", longer wheelbase 111" vs 107" for the Mustang. The overhangs are slightly less. Overall length for the Genesis is 182", Mustang is 188". So, does anyone want a smaller Mustang or just some more slippery skin to make it appear smaller? -

Ford wants Mustang in Sprint Cup for '13
Blue II replied to blksn8k2's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
The product you see today as lame as it is goes back to the 1970's when Ford pulled out of all organized racing. Up until then GM was not competitive. After Ford left GM came in and did their tribute $$$$ to the Frances empire and that's how it's been ever since. If anyone believes that Jimmy Johnson is a true 5 time champion they must still believe that wrestling is real. Ford will not do the tribute thing and that's why they get stuck with a severe disadvantage when they had to race up until recently an engine that dated to the 1960's. The Yota, Dodge and GM engine are all replicas of a 351. If Farley had a better alternative to market Ford Racing he would jump at it in a Heartbeat. Sorry for the pun. We're stuck with it. An awfull lot of fans think it is real. -
2011 Lightning Lap Mustang Wins!
Blue II replied to DHG2605's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
Mustang wins everytime when equal power plants are compared, 3.7, 3.5 EB, and Coyote. Comparing a FG Falcon to an 05 4.6 Mustang doesn't make sense. -

GM Attack on Power Stroke
Blue II replied to Bob Rosadini's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
Just a tidbit for everyone to think about when you read reviews like Motor Trend or it's sister pubs such as Hot Rod, Car Craft and others in this publishing group. The publisher Ed Zinke is about as bowtie as you can get. His climb to publisher included a stint at PHR and running Engine Masters. After getting his bowtie crumpled too many times by the Cleveland he has writen the rules for you know what to win. Hot Rod and Car Craft were pretty bad in the old days and now they are going to get even worse. -

I've seen more than you could know on testing Falcon and Mustang. Here the Pony is faster on all surfaces with equal powerplants (Coyote). However that wasn't my only point. A few other things though. So you're liking something resembling an XF. I posted hints last summer, evidently they went under your radar. One other thing you need to understand about Dearborn and how they manage FOA and others, Polling, Sir Alex and Jac are long gone. Mulally has to bring all the far flung operations under One Ford. FOA is coming along very nicely too.

All this sterotype talk reminds me of a story from the Ford 100 in 2003. A couple of 30 something girliemen were having a conversation about an elderly man driving a 66 Cobra through World HQ parking and the usual mid life crisis rant happened. Turned out to be Shelby taking a wee fellow named Stewart out for a spin. They were probably the same little girl 30 somethings that want IRS under the next Mustang. Most couldn't drive a SRA to 1G lateral let alone an IRS car. Believe it or not research shows that most would want IRS because it rides smoother and nothing more.

Back on point.................pick a Lincoln name fro this one.
