jpd80
Oh I do, I know how cheap they are, I know how the beancounters have the final say in everything, I wonder how things will change in the future for Ford AU under Mulally?? None of the customer base here really wants American or Euro Fords. Ford Australia IS the Falcon. Without it, they can shut up shop. If they replace it with Taurus or Fusion or try to switch to Mondeo, the supporters will dessert and Holden will kill them stone dead! Aussie Falcon is panther to the exponential power. It is imperative we have a strong falcon that works in our market. What you guys want up there is your business, just understand they don't work here. Mullaly is probably going to try to get Ford of Australia on the global bandwagon in terms of platforms and engines. Ford of Australia would do a lot better with GLOBAL engines, and concentrate most of its local engineering effort on designing a flexible global RWD platform. Ford already has great V6 and V8 engines available, so for the next-generation, expect the I6 and V8 to be replaced with a global design. RichardJensen
Yea, I forgot about the Edge, you can stop drooling now.. You know, the funny thing is that from the side, the front overhang looks very similar. Both have the front wheels far enough back (or the front doors far enough forward) that the doors are swept back to avoid the wheel wells. However, the way Ford detailed the front of the Edge causes that overhang to basically disappear from most viewing angles, whereas the Murano's design enhances the front overhang (in two dimensions, vertically the design comes to a point, and horizontally, there is a pronounced curve to the Murano's front end in 'plan' layout). Hence the silliness of critiquing a design when it has not been fully revealed. Edited June 17, 2007 by RichardJensen
