91trunk
OK folks I'm in need of some info on the new 6.4 diesel. If a 6.4 SD is ordered WITHOUT an engine block heater is the element still in there? I know the wire to plug it in isn't, but is the element in there? If not does anyone know how tough it is to install? Thanks for helping a newbie!
Hydro
As far as I know, all the blocks on the 6.4 will have the element even if it was ordered or not. That's what the engineer told me on the powerstroke tour.

George C
Unless you live in Barrow, alaska, you really don't need it. I live in Buffalo, NY and I've never plugged my truck in..
Markford14
From what dealers have told me and I have read the element is in there but the cord is what part can be ordered. If the truck doesnt have one they should be about $50. Other wise the cord is wire tied up behind the passenger side fog light.
loft306
It is in there and all you'll have to get from the dealer is the power cord. it is on the passenger side just above the starter.

So even if you do not live in a real cold climate.....Would plugging it up assist the truck in being warmer quicker on cold mornings?
