Colin 707
And to think that you guys actually procreate and have real life issues like mortgages and things...But the more unbelievable thing is that you guys have the ability to reproduce. Do we really need to be subject to this immaturity, you are making yourselves hidden behind pen names and OAC look bad as this is read by Ford employees all over North America... I know your next response will be slamming me, which is expected and it will only exemplify your crap attitudes when we have Union brothers and sisters laid off and a launch that is most likely one of the most important OAC has had in quite a long time.. :kissass:

Hey Colin I have to agree with you, it seems many guys in this forums are acting like small kids, i'm not impressed with their manners because they are just a few, so if we give ears to them that's all they want. Let kids to be kids in a man/woman body.

samfan17
this is getting crazy. I am new to this but we need to start dealing with the problems in the plant and not bitching about what everyone else is saying or our parking problems. We have a new product starting with no one knowing what our jobs are or what or hours are. Lets look at the big picture and be brothers and sisters and get this new product out and make Oakville the plant that Ford wants to bring all new products to. I look at all of the other plants on here and they are worried about thier future and we are so pathetic and bitching about the little things. In my opinion any posts in this link should be about our future and anything which is going on in the plant. Good luck brothers and sisters, lets secure our jobs for the future and give our best for those who may not have one with this heartless company. OAC_Sparky
Hey guys , what is taking so long to launch ? I heard Ford is spending big bucks on you guys.... The launch is going strictly to Ford's schedule, to which we are for the most part in the dark. But the launch was always supposed to be in late 2006. We're all just surprised that we're still out of the proverbial loop this late in the game. You would think that they would be a little more proactive. WTF????
Hey guys , what is taking so long to launch ? We start building production prototypes next week (the ones that will be used for evaluation, crash testing, etc) They're shooting to have 76 of them built prior to the summer shutdown by June 29th. I'm also told that starting the week of June 19th both shifts will be working but on a shortened schedule of more or less 4 hours or so per shift.....to kinda get people back in the groove of working days and afternoons but more so to get input from both shifts on while the protos are being built (instead of how they did it when we started with the Windstar with BOTH shifts in at the same time which created a massive parking nightmare) Basically A-Shift comes in in the morning, builds X-amount of Freestars and Edges/MKS and then the B-shift comes in and finishes off. My brother is training for his new job in final inspection for midnight shift over the next few weeks and he was told to expect to come in on B-shift starting at 2 pm the week of the 19th and likely working until 6 pm for a total of 4 hours. A-shift is also slated to work the last week of June as well doing the same thing....coming in in the afternoon after B-shift works the morning. And then, unless something changes, it's full steam ahead after shutdown with both shifts working full time again. And has become the norm....consider all of the above "TENTATIVE" as things tend to change on a minute by minute basis at OAC. Edited June 10, 2006 by WTF???? avi8or63
Target number for the two shifts is 489. So A shift will work until lunch, 4.5 hours and b shift will come in and make up the difference. I really wish Ford was a little more organized when it comes to our jobs and how they will change with the new models. Good luck everybody! It looks like we're going to need it! :cheerleader:

I don't understand how working 4 hours starting at noon can get us back in the swing of things as far as afternnon shift, it's just like working the afternoon of our day shift.

They are not going to spend any money in order to get you "used" to working shifts again.
