Steve1969
My Navigator lease is comming up in Nov. so we were looking around this weekend. Our local Ford dealer has several Flexes on his lot. We test drove one and really liked it. Only major complaint was from my wife over her headrest. She is only 5'2" tall and the headrest forces her head forward and down. Really uncomfortable. The salesman tried to adjust it for her but no help. I notice the design of the headrest is really agressive and is not adjustable other than up and down. We also test drove the Enclave. It is a nice vechile but we liked the Flex better. With the new second seat release my wife said she could access the third row seats herself, (never could on the three Navigators and one Expy we have had) and although the Enclave salesman tried to demonstrate the ease of getting into their third row it wasn't that easy. igor
yes the headrests are aggressive - because Ford refuses to invest in active headrests, they had to do that for goo rear crash impact score ... since Ford usually has the same mounting for all of their headrests - especially Cd3 and D3 cars - she could try the comfort in other cars such as the Taurus, Edge, Taurus X and try to swap .. alternatively, she could swap for one of the rear L-shaped headrests. I know none of these solutions are ideal. Igor
akirby
You can also flip the headrests around. I've found if you recline the seat a bit more than normal it works just fine.

We tried flipping the headrest around but it has such a severe angle that it really looked strange. Would the headrests that are in the middle seats fit the front seats? Could I buy them seperately? Would the headrests that are in the middle seats fit the front seats? Could I buy them seperately? the response to both your questions is "they should" - especially the latter. go in and try it - that is the only way of knowing. You SHOULD NOT however pay for it - in this market there is NO REASON why a dealer should not agree to throw in a $300 head rest for free on a $30k-$40k car ... if you catch my drift. rmc523
I just test drove a Flex the other day and noticed the same thing with the headrest. It was angled a little too far forward for my liking as others have mentioned. Other than that, the car drove really nicely.
