diecaster
Ending the jsp would make the union obselete. Why is it the union's fault that Ford has no idea how to be proactive? When this contract was written the economy had not hit bottom but it wasnt like it was in the 90's. They failed to look ahead. When the gas went over $2 a gallon they kept pushing the F-150 on everyone because of the profits they were making off of it. They failed to look ahead. They quit making the Escort replaced it with the Focus and make it our only small vehicle. The recalls were terrible at the beginning and the only reason people are buying it now is because it is cheap. They failed to look ahead. Now they want us to take buyouts while the fatcats make their millions. They failed to use common sense. Collect your jsp money get an education while you have time and etap money and ride out the storm. We have all seen how the buyouts have worked for everyone. Foreclosures, repos and no jobs have plagued our fellow union members who were scared into buyouts. Do not help them. If it were up to Ford they would fire us all like salary escort us out with security and not think of anything but their bottom lines. We need to stick together. Stay strong brothers and sisters. This is a war and buyouts are just white flags.

This is a war and buyouts are just white flags. You still have ee's in the Rouge working at plants everyday and this is being funded by JSP. This is such a cost savings for Ford and not a darn thing is being down about it. So how can you get paid out of a JSP fund and be working your regular 40 hour work week? Yeah, you will run out of money by paying people to work at plants and paying their hours by a fund that should be used for the right reasons. Dadzee
lets ride this horse to the end Damn Straight NG. Why on earth should I take an educational buyout when I can get my full pay, take maybe 3 hrs less per semester, and keep benefits/ bonuses ect. ?? 85% salary for 2 yrs, 100k, and a guest spot on the next FCN feel good comedy hour and I will think about it. (the above buyout wishes are, of course, intended for humor only, and not a true reflection of anything I think will happen in this dimension) Edited October 27, 2008 by Dadzee

BleedBlue1024
Failed to look ahead?? I understand your input and point of view buts look at this from a different perspective. All the years when the company was making billions, you never complained and said "Please no, don't give me a big profit sharing check and dont let me work OT 7 days a week so that we can make a car 10 years from now that will sell". I am sick and tired of people pointing fingers at who is to blame for all of this, epsecially the people who made thousands of dollars more than they would have because Ford made billions on trucks.
