European car sales drop -26% in November

All brands dropped by an average -26% in Europe in November. Ford grroup Ford/Volvo was down 19.5% 90,053 units down from 119,399 units in 2007, Fords sale were down 17.3% & Volvo sales dropped -30%. Dacia had the biggest rise in sales +25.7%. Fords new Fiesta held on to almost last years sales numbers which helped boost Fords sales.

Ford -19.5%

Renault 19.8%

Mercedes -24%

Fiat -24.9%

PSA -27%

BMW - 31%

Toyota -36%

Honda -36.8%

GM -38%

Land Rover/Jaguar -42.5%

Chrysler -55.7%

No, their circus will just have a different name. The environazis in the European Council (or whatever that conglomeration is called) over there want the car companies punished because they are building cars that real people buy, and not building cars ahat are greener than green at any cost, which very few will buy.

That has to be a worry to old man TATA, especially if his Steel plants are off song too.

 

Yea l bet his not a happy chappy that will teach him to listen to T-Stang, Ford's numbers are lot better lately this year they are now snapping at VW's heels and are No 2 in Europe without J/LR. Ford only have Volvo dragging their numbers down a little now.

Fords new Fiesta made it to No2 spot in Europe the highest its been for ages just below the VW Golf, Focus made it to No4 spot sales slipped a bit down -26% in November. Mondeo never makes it to the top 10 not sure how its doing at the moment.

 

Fiesta sales are 303,875 and the Focus has sold 344,113 unit so far in Europe YTD

BTW the Mondeo sold 11,500 units on the EU 19 markets, and 153,000 year to date which is 72,500 more year to date compared to 2007.

Kuga sold 4,100 and the new Ka 2,100 units.

 

I know Mondeo was 2nd in market share in its segment behind the VW Passat as of September 2008.
