Answer this question why does the Rookie Chairman at AAI volenteer to negotiate these concessions, and many more qualified Chairmans in the area wouldnt touch it with a ten foot pole, Answer can you say International Appointment. Oh by the way wasnt Gary,Cindy,Steve and Kevin on the same ticket Gary should have used a little more thought, he was warned about Cindy ,Steve and others on the committee. Are you guys joking? You post up time and time again how bad AAI members are, yet most of the crying is about how they segregated you and labeled you as the bad apples. Each and every plant has bad apples but they shouldn’t reflect on the entire membership. If we use your terminology, any one member from Wixom, Dearborn, Michigan Truck, AAI etc, etc that is full of shit, or arrogant, or just plan lazy then they all are. That simply put, is just dumb. Segregation is gone as it should be, stop trying to bring it back.

 

You talk so high and mighty of DeBoodt, but where is he now? Did he run again or did he run away? He had 29 + years of experience and supported a person with no knowledge of the plant and had held only as high as a district rep prior for Chairmen. He support a BC with no elected experience and two other BC’s that openly stabbed him in the back every time they could. He chose not to run for these very reasons, and then supported it. How’s that a great leader? This means is that he turned on the entire membership.

 

The agreement you speak of, I agree with you, it’s a very good agreement but still could use some changes for the good of the membership. I’m sure all contracts could. But remember he didn’t negotiate it alone; he negotiated it with 2 other BC’s and 1 skilled tradesman from AAI, and another BC that transferred in from another plant. It’s called a JSP Contract (job security agreement) that has the Dunnage jobs listed as our work, yet we just lost them? So please don’t think with those in office our Material Handling, IP line, Plastics and Door line jobs are all that safe. There not even spelled out in the contract as Dunnage was. Also, don’t blame everything on our Chairmen we have 3 bc’s and its very apparent some are playing the blame game on him every chance they can.

I do agree with you on a few things like Cindy, she is a major problem NO ONE wants to deal with her, she is a liar, a back stabber, and can not be trusted. I have not dealt too much with Steve but from what I do know he is not nearly as bad as Cindy, he does know our contract and is doing the best he can with what he was dealt, you have to remember this team did not negotiate this contract or any of the side deals that were made. Kevin was an elected offical prior to being laid off and placed at wixom. He was very helpful then and to this day has never fed me any BS. He has always answered my question and if he did not have an answer he would get it and get back to me. I think he is the most honest out of the 3 BC and is doing a great job considering what he has to work with.

Listen, we all need to stick together like UAW members are suppose to. Sitting here bashing our committee is not doing anything but tearing the Union apart. This is the time we need to band together and stand strong. Everyone knows how the economy is doing and that change has to come in order for us to survive. This is no fault of the committee, current or past.

If you feel things should be done differently step up and speak up in person. If you have suggestions to improve things then bring it to the committee. Like I said bashing them on this web site is not going to change a thing. Its more then apparent that you have ideas on how things should be done why not share them. Maybe things are going on that you're not aware of that would explain a few things to you.

I just feel we should be "UNITED AUTO WORKERS" we should stand for what we say we are. Cutting our brothers and sisters throats is NOT what UAW stands for.

Your boy Gary has ripped pages out of the Local agreement, what did the union members get for it absolutely nothing. By the time the people go to Saline it will be aproximately 538 people have left the plant, read the GUIDE, so why have there been no bids posted? oops contract violation, the last committee posted bids in the outlying areas everytime people left the plant and more than the contract called for thats representation!!, I can go on. Now for your other boy Kevin I made a call got his election flyers, they said he was elected as District Rep. OH,OH that would be a lie according to your statement (Alt Dist rep for Brian Simon)your excuse, maybe the printer messed up, or a typo, or it was a political ploy to trick the membership in voting for him Like others on the Bargaining Committee Big Promises. Our Concession Vote 51%-49% obviously your boys didnt do a good job on educating the membership or there is no confidance in our UNION OFFICIALS. Since you are on the blue oval look at the Locals that have long standing expierenced Comittees and the vote turn out you should be ashamed your boys failed. I do believe they are going through the recall rights per our contract,where is the violation there, members have recall rights prior to jobs being posted. As far as the last committee, did that committee have members that where removed from their area and place else where in the plant? Did they have to deal with recall rights? NO,I dont believe they did. If it was not for the recalls going on those jobs would have been posted. Gary and Kevin are NOT my Boys they are our elected officials trying to clean up the mess that the last committee left them. Yes, I know the difference between Alt and full time reps. apparently you did not read my statement. Kevin was alt and moved up to full time Rep.

I have yet to see any plant that stands UNITED. Many Madza originals have been to other FORD plants, some have returned some stayed. They all will tell you that their reception by FORD workers was not welcoming. So, that my friend is not just a MAZDA trait. While job bids may be based on merit, ability, experience and then senority (which anyone who has been in the business with a good attendance record has) getting laid off indefinately does depend on seniority. So, I would watch what you wish for. Those damn Mazda originals may come to your plant and leave You without a job.
