To Saline workers with all of the people comming into your plant you have got some real Unionist's and former union officials from many local plants , I reccomend that you look at them closley I hear your elections are soon comming up. I wish Jon Snyder was in office now the committee needs his expierence to help the membership through these tough times, from what I hear he is working on thr Mustang IP line I always voted for him he was a very good for the membership, he has alot of fight for what is right and alot of expierence and knowledge. The other person to look at is Dave Perez He has been a district rep he was on the execuetive board at Local 3000 and has a good union heart I hear he works somewhere in the Mustang door panel line. This is just a suggestion go talk with them get to know them they will be there if you need them just my two cents.

brother remember one thing, the people coming in that werent there previously are not new hires, theve seen all the garbage.if the people you endorse are worthy, it will shake out in the wash, now when exactly that election is could be an issue because people will need some time to judge for themselves, nobody should take anybodys word for who to vote for. maybe the prudent thing to do under the circumstances would be to postpone elections for a predetermined amount of time

That sounds a little third world---to postpone elections. The brothers and sisters that go to Saline have to judge in their heart about running for election. They are only there temporarily. Do they want to win a seat for a year? I wouldn't. However, they will have an influence on the election. The people coming in will have heard it all from their home plant. I have an idea of how it will play out, but I don't want to spill my beans and jinx it.

i wasnt referring to people running for anything,as my post clearly states, the people coming in temporarily should have more than a few weeks to decide who to vote for, their are some real snakes out there.now how in the hell is giving the people that are voting a couple of months to feel things out a little third worldish.if you are who other people on here claim you are that explains it. theres no reason to have people voting that dont know who their voting for

The timing of the election is dictated by the constitution, you can't just change the date. Our election is this May and you have to be a dues paying member in good standing at the local for one year before you can be nominated for a position in the union. This is also dictated by the constitution.

When you are referring to anything related to Ford Motor Company, what exactly does "temporary" mean? If you're so worldly and wise as to know what is going to happen at Saline(or any other plant for that matter), a year to a year and a half from now, you're wasting that precious mind of yours. You should be on Wall street or taking the casinos for everything they are worth. When MTP folks signed up for Dearborn and Woodhaven, it was printed clearly on the posting, that by signing that posting, we would have NO return to basic unit rights to MTP or Local 900. Low and behold, after all the drama played out, every one of us that transferred out still has recall rights to local 900 and the future Michigan Assembly Plant. I've noticed that Ford has been pretty consistent on panic protection. I'm thinking that once you have hundreds of former assembly plant workers with 15-22 years seniority at Saline, it's going to be pretty difficult to convince the UAW that they all need to go back to assembly plants so the younger folks can go enjoy the country club. And what IS the safest way to tell all those temps that the people that they are training to do a job are probably going to be here for a whole lot longer than a year, which means the vast majority of those temps probably have a better chance of going to an assembly plant than returning to Club Saline? So, if there is an election after we all get to Saline, I would hope that each every person that came from somewhere else, would just go ahead and consider their self a PERMANENT employee of Saline and approach any election accordingly. How's this for a flashback; 'I could have been a committee person, but I thought I was only going to be here for a year'. :fan:

Now, if you're of the mind that we should all JUST BE GLAD THAT WE STILL HAVE A JOB, like the shitheads that promoted the concessions, then just stay with the rest of the flock of sheople and do as you're told. Pay as you're told. Sacrifice as you're told. Maintain the status quo and listen to Kool-Aid drinkin' motherfuckers like this one here.

There is validity in what you say. One thing is for certain: there are no certainties in Ford Motor Company right now. You can't say "this is how it's going to be". Nothing shocks me anymore....ANYTHING can happen. The people that were sent to Saline from Utica were told they'd be there for about 3 months. They've been there a LONG time and aren't going anywhere. People say with such certainty "Saline will be sold or closed". Yes that is the rhetoric coming out of the glass house and yes it may happen. But it may NOT, too. History has shown us that Ford has no problem scrapping plans to go in another direction. The honest truth is that none of us knows what's going to happen at Saline or anywhere else in the system. The industry is so volatile right now that we can't see two feet in front of our face. So decisions like coming to Saline are based on blind faith. You might be there for a year, you might retire from there. Only time will tell. Good luck to everyone.

Just a few points that have to be clarified. The constitution provision of "1 year" is for Eboard positions. In-plant is dictated throught the Bylaws. Bbaby is correct about the timing. The people will just have to try to make a decision. There is no perfect system. The RTBU rights have been explained several times. Forget was was allegedly on the postings at those locations. Lastly, being complacent with the "just be glad we still have a job" attitude won't cut it. Being alert to your surroundings and careful not to jump into the fire is a more intelligent means to gain victory or survival. The dumbass "F'K IT ALL" attitude is precarious at best. What do you mean by "Kool-aid drinkin' MotherF'ker like this one here"? What big crusading idea do you have in mind? Anarchy? Until you sign MY check STFU :banmolest:

Splaine your self !!!! :shades:

Did you suggest that Full time seniority Ford workers should be represented by temps? If so, my comment stands. If I misunderstood you, then YOU got some Splainin' to do, Lucy.

Thats is exactly what was Stated  . Apparently you have a Problem with the ACH Temp status in Saline by your above quote, you have some splaining to do !! Sounds like you are Closed Minded about a Positive Change. Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't ACH Temps pay UAW Union Dues ???????????? If by chance you work at Saline, I suggest you open your eyes, talk to them. It might change your Negative Opinion and change your mind to wards the ACH Temps. They are far more Sharper than you are willing to give due credit :shades:

The point is............................that your days are numbered. Again, you have one foot out the door. Why else would they call you a "temp". Once all of the transfers get to Saline, the temps will be gone. You'll probably end up in an assembly plant, some day. How sharp must you be to take a job at Ford Motor Co. this late in the game. And again, I won't vote for anyone that we already know won't be here long enough to serve their entire term. Sounds like you're the one that needs to open your eyes..........and your ears.....................and your mind. I'll talk to them, when it's time to say good bye and good luck. I'm not bitter, but you sure as hell are. I hope these moves and the economy works out for all of us. Do you NOT realize that all of the temps are leaving Saline????

I remember two elections ago when Tom told the low seniority people they wouldn't get laid off if they re-elected him, two weeks after he was elected they were laid off and later picked up by Milan. But he did get elected!! He will tell you what you want to hear as long as he can gain from it.

The Union Contract took care of them not Tom, the point is that he is out there making promises to us like he always has but doesn't care whether or not he can carry them out. Maybe he has promised you something if he gets elected, if he did and if he wins election write back and let us know if he kept his promise.

Wether or not the contract saved them technically, He was right and they still had a JOB!

He has not promised me nothing. I do not expect anything from him other then to do a good job at what he was elected to do. And he does a fine job.

Are you pissed that you can't run again?
