The bottom line is: If you are in good standing with the UAW for the past 12 consecutive months, you can legally run in ANY election, local or otherwise, at any UAW location. If anyone tells you different, they have an agenda that probably is NOT in your best interest. We had some bullshit like that in our Local Agreement several years ago. There were petitions passed around and submitted and when it was all said and done, the transferees were allowed to run with less than 3 months in the local. I don't believe any of them actually won, but that's beside the point. We're discussing the legality of running and having your name on the ballot.

If enough people in your local or plant have a complaint about Local Contract language, you can get it resolved rather quickly. In the end, it comes down to the will of the membership over bad contract language.

And I'm NOT trying to say that anyone in Saline's local needs to be replaced. I wouldn't know(yet). We will see...................................

I didn"t remember the words, my kid does though. Thank God I don"t have to watch that show anymore. :happy feet:

Don't worry fomoconomo, I don't think there is anything wrong with knowing that song. When my daughter was around 3-4 she would watch those tapes OVER AND OVER again. Shes 16 now and I STILL remember that stupid song!

Well I hope you are right Tom told me if I vote for him he will make sure us "Orange" people become FORD workers. Maybe I will be able to stay and keep the Ford people out!

It has happened in the past, However Times wern't like they are now. :redcard::redcard: If you want to be a Ford worker , Then why would you post: "Maybe I will be able to stay and keep the Ford people out!"?

I think to many of the temps are burning bridges that they may want to recross someday. This may surprise all of you "TEMPS" , But , The more "FORD" friends you make, the more possibilities ,you could have in the future somehow. JMO.

Wow! I wonder how many people he's promised this job to, I heard that he offered it to Kathy Kruger too. When we were at Wayne they were talking on the phone everyday working on strategy to get him elected.

To Saline workers with all of the people comming into your plant you have got some real Unionist's and former union officials from many local plants , I reccomend that you look at them closley I hear your elections are soon comming up. I wish Jon Snyder was in office now the committee needs his expierence to help the membership through these tough times, from what I hear he is working on thr Mustang IP line I always voted for him he was a very good for the membership, he has alot of fight for what is right and alot of expierence and knowledge. The other person to look at is Dave Perez He has been a district rep he was on the execuetive board at Local 3000 and has a good union heart I hear he works somewhere in the Mustang door panel line. This is just a suggestion go talk with them get to know them they will be there if you need them just my two cents.

I currently work at AAI, and would not recommend anyone voting for these two. Both lost last election and that is why they are at Saline, to try and start over where no one knows them. Jon can't be trusted and will stab anyone in the back, so be where. They lost for alot of reasons, so make sure you ask questions, there will be AAI people at Saline that will tell you the same. Good Luck Saline, Glad they are gone.

Thanks for the heads up. They won't have to worry about getting elected for another three years. Just sayin'

Standup I work at AAI also Jon did alot of good for the membership, you talk about back stabbers Cindy Maynard and Steve Munafo are the worst AAI they teamed up with the current Chairman to get elected and turned on him almost immediately after the election you know that's true. Jon is better than anyone on the current Bargaining Committee here at AAI, he ran For President last election if he would have run for Bargaining Committee or Chairman he would have won, he would not give up the farm or let John Savona dictate to them like our current Bargaining Committee does.

Fomoconomo: as I read this site you are all over the board, I dont usally justify rumers or lies but I will humor you on this one. I came in here with an open mind and was told that Pete was a good guy, I have asked plenty of questions and one common denominator seems to me Pete has let the international Union do the negotiating for the membership, you elected him to negotiate in your best intrest not the International Union Appointed Reps. As for the deal with Tom Kanitz you spoke about I have turned down several appointments at AAI in the past so why would I take an appointment now I dont have any problems working. I reviewed your by-laws prior to comming to Saline I have no problem being a member in good standing 1 year prior to an election. Now let me ask you a question so what if I did take an appointment would that be any worse than Pete appointing his wife to ESSP Rep. soon after he was elected Chairman??. I work on the Mustang reaction mold IP skin press on days stop in and see me sometime we may have allot to talk about. :hysterical:

Well I guess if you were really doing your homework you would know that the GEN rep at Saline is Tom's brother-in-law which Tom appointed while he was Chairman.Regardless who appointed them they have both helped me out in the past when I needed their help.

Hey Captain America if you were truly the HERO at AAI you seem to think you were I would have to believe you would still be there bestowing them with your superb representation. I have to believe standup probably had some valid points in his post, it's clear there have already been discussions about appointments and I don't believe for one minute you wouldn't jump at the opportunity. You are truly a legend in your own mind.

You and Returnee joined BON on the same date. I wonder why that is? Double personality? Nah!

I agree with you about Cindy and Steve, but the Saline people really don't care about them, but Jon is right there with these too, in my opinion, and that is why he lost the last couple elections, he burned too many bridges at AAI.
