Dragonfly
A Salute to our American Brothers and Sisters! I'm glad to see that the UAW members have grown some balls and voted down that horse shit contract your leadership was trying to stuff down your throats! Enough is enough! Our CAW membership needs to take a page from your book. Thanks for courageously leading the way!
deflep1
AAI voted it down. I don't remember the exact numbers, but it was approx 1200+ NO and 400+ Yes, around 75% NO. Too many big plants have voted NO for the total vote to pass (without fraud). I think Ford will have to try again, this time with a better offer! FiredMotorCompany
There is no need to go back to the table, they are not scheduled to negotiate again till 2011!!!!!! I could be persuaded to vote yes if binding arbitration was eliminated. There is a blue letter going around explaining the existing limits on strikes and trying to answer some of the concerns we have discussed on this and other sites. If they go back and try again without Binding Arbitration, the UAW might get a legitimate 51% yes votes for it.

I still haven't figured out what Ford was giving that they hadn't already put in 07 and 09 agreements, which we gave more than we can get back in the next 20 years. Why Gettelfinger would say it was a good agreement, I just don't get it. The only thing I could actually see they were promising was $1000 dollars in March, which #1 is less than our next two xmas bonuses that we gave back, #2 we don't even get that if we get profit sharing worth more than $1000 dollars. They can't even negotiate for a bonus that isn't tied to whether or not we get profit sharing, they didn't negotiate anything they just said, OH yeah we can do that!!!!! fordguy61mi
Lets say at the end of the voting period it all tallies up to the mod being voted DOWN. Then the official results come out and it says it passed! What options do we have at that point?
