weiweishen
My link The quality of the battery assembled by Ford is really amazing. I wish they can lower the price to 30%, then having a electric car will not be a dream for a regular buyer.
Noah Harbinger
In San Francisco, taxis drove 80 million miles on Ford hybrids, enough data to go to heaven and back. That is getting close to the distance from the Earth to the Sun (92 million miles). Edited July 22, 2011 by Noah Harbinger
RichardJensen
That is getting close to the distance from the Earth to the Sun (92 million miles). This will blow your mind: Americans drove about 3 trillion miles last year. http://www.fhwa.dot.gov/ohim/tvtw/10dectvt/index.cfm The miles driven by all Americans in the past ten years would cover the distance to Proxima Centauri. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proxima_Centauri

The lithium-ion batteries are much cheaper than the nickel-metal-hydride batteries currently being used. I believe the cost reduction is somewhere between 30%-50%. It will be interesting to see how Ford prices the 3rd generation hybrids using these batteries.
