A majority of Ford workers at UAW Local 600 in Dearborn have voted in favor of a tentative agreement with Ford, giving the deal momentum as voting heads into the final stretch this week.

 

 

Bernie Ricke, president of UAW Local 600, said 3,255 workers, or 62% of those who voted, cast ballots in favor of the agreement. UAW Local 600 has more members than any other Ford UAW local.

 

 

With those results included 57% those who have voted so far have voted yes, the UAW Ford Department Ford Department said Sunday on its Facebook page.

Late today, the UAW Ford Department said 90%, 2,701 UAW members that work at Kansas City Assembly in Kansas City, Mo., voted in favor of the agreement.

 

I don't see how this contract couldn't pass now, even if LAP and KTP voted it down. In fact, the momentum now seems all in favor of it after inital grumbling. I feel it's important for this contract to pass overwhemingly as it seems to be doing now. Ford doesn't need a pissed off workforce. 62%-65% means the majority feel it's a decent deal and are somewhat satisfied.

Perhaps it's not surprising that those in closest contact with Walkowitz are most opposed to his nonsense.

 

Its more complex, than that.

 

it was the other plants that voted heavily in favor, the truck plant Was AFAIK split down the middle.

 

Understand the Workers are not insane, they are voting for their interest, plants like MAP and CAP which have had tons of overtime which they will lose when the 3rd shifts are added, voted it down because they will/ could lose money, with not COLA, or overtime. They voted for more money.

 

Plants that are not under high demand, or need new product vote yes because they are looking for security. they voted for security.

 

plants that already have products in high demand, have more leverage than those that do not have product, And the voting shows this.

 

This has little to do with personality, and everything to do with what motivates each worker.
