Malibu3105
Joveri, So you had your VIN in under a week, and a build date in under 3 weeks?... Is that correct? That is awesome!! I am soon to follow.
joveri
Malibu3105, yes, I had the sales manager at the dealership scratching his head . He said if all goes well, it should take 5 weeks from the build date to get the car (talking conservatively).
Malibu3105
Awesome. I feel so prepared now, I know how to get updates, track rail cars, etc !! What will I do once I get my car ?,... captinkirk
Cyberdman updated my status (THANKYOU!) Scheduled to day for tomorrow. Hearing how successful everyone is at getting rail cars, hopefully us 3/25 ers will follow suite with the same speediness.
TerrorTodd
Yup, I just called again and it left Carrizozo, New Mexico, New Mexico @ 10:59 am. Do you know the final destination of this particular train?

neod192
Do you know the final destination of this particular train? Nope, but I'm guessing IL, then another rail company will pick it up and bring it to MI.
TerrorTodd
Nope, but I'm guessing IL, then another rail company will pick it up and bring it to MI. So all vehicles go to IL and then out to the respective destinations? Seems silly if a car was headed to Texas to go to IL and then back to Texas for example...or even worse if headed to AZ to go to IL and then back to AZ when the train goes right through AZ. hmmmmmmmm....... apm
My status was updated by Cyberdman earlier today... My "Schedule to Day" is 3/27/13 APM
taylorjd
Looks like mine is "In Transit". My Visibility Report says it is in Nogales, AZ on ETTX 710309, but it also says there is a delay "Mechanical Failure". So maybe that is a general delay slow many. A call to CSX 800 also says it in in AZ. I'll check again later tonight.

I don't think it's all trains, just mine! Keep in mind with trains, they can break up railcars, put them on a different train and take them somewhere else. They wouldn't ship a car that goes to TX to IL.

neod192
My HiTi got the dreaded "awaiting shipment --ETA TBD" Don't worry, mine was like that after it was built too. I still don't have an ETA, but it's on the way!
joveri
I'm not sure if anyone has touched up on this already (if so, maybe someone can point me in the right direction), but does anyone know why there's only 1 wheel option for the HyTi?
chuckokie36
Cause that's all Ford has on the Hi Ti order list, your guess is as good as mine as to why. We all would like more options. The Linclon MKZ Hybrid allows a standard 18" and a 19" wheel option Edited March 25, 2013 by chuckokie36
joveri
Thanks for the reply Chuckokie36, I wonder if you could get aftermarket wheels on these hybrids. I heard they use special rims and the bigger the rims, the lower your mpg...

I tracked mine almost hourly last week for a couple of days, then when I got the update from the Ford system - it was kind of like it only gets updated once a day from the Railroad. I won't say that positively, but I don't think Ford gets the minute by minute update that you can get by calling the 800 number which is pretty much real time. I heard they use special rims and the bigger the rims, the lower your mpg... Lots of folks on all these threads have purchased after market. Stay with the sizes that are available for the gas titanium and you will probably be OK ------they will lower your gas mileage tho. Look at this link at post #284 http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums/index.php?/topic/51554-new-fusion-owner-pics-and-impressions/page-25 There are a lot of pictures of aftermarket wheels in blue oval forums, you just have to look for them!! Kwilli
Does anyone know if the titanium model 18 inch wheels effect mpg? I saw someone ask this on another thread, but never saw an answer.
chuckokie36
The 18" tires are wider therefore more rolling resistance, yes, to some degree they will effect mileage. Also the 17" tires on the regular hybrid are also low rolling resistance, the 18" tires are not low rolling resistance..

The 18" tires on the Hybrid are also low rolling resistance and they don't seem to affect MPGs ... Lots of info on these on the hybrid forum.
taylorjd
OK All, I found the my car is in Arizona and should be in Illinois on Mar 31. I used the Union Pacific one and it and it gave me the added Mar 31 info. I found this on another site: How do I track my car on a railcar?First and most important. Never talk to live personnel at the railroad! Only use automated phone system. If it attempts to transfer you to a live person please hang up. The railcar information we are provided by GM is given as a courtesy and if we call live personnel we will lose our data and ability to track CSX1. Call the CSX 1-800-235-2352 2. When prompted for location or weight, press "1" on your phone for location.3. When prompted for the car initials, say ETTX (whatever initials you have) then wait for the next prompt. OR key in 32-81-81-92 (for ETTX)(letter and position on your phone)4. When prompted for the car number, say 907048 or key in whatever your car number is5. When prompted for next car say DONE.6. That's it; enjoy your updated status report.Union Pacific 1. Call UP at 1 800 877-51232. Follow phone prompts for Trace3. Say the railcar number complete and clearly. Example ETTX123456 all together4. Listen for your updateThese automated systems can be frustrating. Keep in mind they are intended for use by folks that use them daily all day long. Like I said if you are being transferred to a live person please hang up and try again. What do common Railroad terms mean?Delivered at Interchange - May switch tracks or the like then on to the next stop. After the interchange you may need to call Union Pacific. The railcar may change carriers.Delivered at Industry - This is the end of the Rail journey. Rail Car is waiting to be unloaded. Then the Car is just waiting on a truck for the last leg.ON HOLD - Hold can be anything, no real way to know why it is on HOLD. If it is a prolonged length of time contact the general manager and ask the reasonBad Order - There is something wrong with the rail car (not your car)….a mechanical failure or the like.CSX SHIPPING STATUS - Only two possible status for CSX ONHOLD OR SHIPPABLEConstructively placed - Rail car has been put on a side track waiting to hook up to next ride or to another area depending on the situationPlaced at Customer Location - "placed at customer location" is in a position at the terminal to be unloaded. Is waiting to get moved over to the unloading areaWAY BILLED - The waybill update just means that they have the paper work for the railcar to continueDiverted in Transit - Change in destination or routing OR instructions- may be a change in destination, route, name of consignee, name of consignor, party to notify, etc. It is a change in instruction. It doesn’t mean the train itself is diverted. It could be something as simple as a change made in the paperwork
