transitman
My 1.6L also pops at start-up. However, I'm out of the bumper-to-bumper warranty and the powertrain warranty language doesn't mention the exhaust past the manifold. Just because there is a TSB doesn't mean it's a free fix, correct? I checked with my dealerships service department and he told me to make sure to bring it in for the repair before the 3/36 is up because it's not covered under the powertrain warranty or ESP. akirby
It's correct that a TSB has nothing to do with warranty coverage. Recalls are always covered by the mfr but a TSB is not a recall - it's just info for the techs to diagnose and fix a problem. That said - if you're still under the B2B warranty and you're having the symptoms in a TSB it will almost always be covered under the warranty. inswva
Ugh. Thanks guys, that's what I thought. Guess I'll just live with it. We have almost 50k miles on the car in 13 months. Yeah, it gets driven. I may need to consider an ESP for the powertrain stuff before we hit 60k.
rk2112
My dealership ordered the parts stated on the TSB. Hopefully I will get it in for the repair next week.

seamusbleu
Has anyone seen an explanation on what is happening that causes the pop? I'm asking because I want to get a feel for how detrimental it is to leave this unfixed.
