phil1336
With the sole exception of the 2013 Ford Escape, why was the Paint Color "Frosted Glass" (P9) replaced by "Ice Storm" (YG)? The former was a unique iridescent soft green that was substituted with a similar iridescent but (common) light silver blue? Hope they consider bringing "Frosted Glass" (P9) back for the 2014 MY especially for the Ford C-MAX! Don`t know what product mix sales numbers were but IMO, I prefer the greenish hue over the blue. If not, it won`t be a deal breaker for me.
hermans
I would have liked the Frost on my FFH.
KS1
I like the Ice Storm on the C-Max. It fits the car well.
Barsoom
I have Ice Storm on my FFH. It seems bluer in the morning and greener in the afternoon. It must be the colors of the setting sun playing off of the paint.

My concern with a Paint Color then gives the illusion of the (Chameleon) effect of going Greenish to Blueish depending on the Sun`s effect is the potential nightmare of Color Matching should a repair someday be needed. A possible nightmare for the Auto Body Shop to match the Paint.
KS1
That's a good point. My wife and I can't really agree what color it really is - and I think lighting does make a differece with that particular color.
phil1336
Noticed that Paint Color "Froster Glass" (P9) was finally dropped for the 2014 MY Escape. Wonder if "Ice Storm" (YQ) will survive for the 2014 MY C-MAX? Appears to be a Black & White with "50 Shades of Grey" paint color world. Can't blame manufacturers for not offering what wasn't selling. Muted color pallettes just seem to be the thing right now.

Muted color pallettes just seem to be the thing right now. Yeah, when I was shopping around for a car I was disappointed in how few different colors are available by nearly every company. I didn't want a car that blends into every other grey/white/black color out there. I wish Ford made the bright orange, green, & metallic blue available on the new Fiesta available on all models. For my new C-MAX I went with blue candy since it would stand out the most from every other car out there.

Something tells me the take rate wouldn't be particularly high for bright orange Tauruses.

NickF1011
Well, you know, except for Tennesse and Austin, Tx... Stilllll. I live in Ravens country and sure don't see a whole lot of purple cars on the road.

Last true purple car from Ford was in 1995 I think with the Mustang? Sonic Blue could almost pass for Purple in some light conditions though. ReasonablyLucid
Something tells me the take rate wouldn't be particularly high for bright orange Tauruses. Well no, but why not on the mustang or even the Taurus SHO? Hell, if orange was available for the C-MAX I would have gotten orange over the current choices. Not saying make it a standard color, just have it as one of the "premium" color options.

Orange has made appearances on the Mustang over the years. They come and go. Automakers can't offer 80 colors every year.
timf
Saw a unique sight yesterday, wish I could have taken a photo. There were two Frosted Glass Escapes parked on either side of an Ice Storm C-Max. This really made it easy to put both colors into perspective. After seeing this, there is little doubt that both have the exact same color properties, only Ice Storm is a few shades lighter. I do find Frosted Glass to be the more appealing color since the color always stands out regardless of lighting conditions.

I`ve seen the Escape in Frosted Glass parked next to a C-Max in the Ice Storm as well. The Frosted Glass is a tiny bit deeper in color but remains an iridescent green regardless of the light that its seen in. The Ice Storm appears more greenish in overcast cloudy conditions and bluer in direct sunlight, IMO
