blockisle9
Okay my first real highway trip to Boston. Total round trip mileage, about 275. Probably about 40 miles driving around Boston and the rest highway, 70-75 mpg. Computor says 24 mp. Not that good IMO. Trip to Rhode Island next weekend, I will fill up on the way and when I get there, all highway, we'll see what the numbers show.
PajamaGuy
That's about right - I ran up to Vt. last weekend - about 300mi round trip, a lot of main (2-lane) roads, some 4-lane. 24.4 real MPG.
Escapism
Is it AWD or FWD? If AWD then thats not that bad. If FWD then it should be a little better.
Transpower
For a road trip like that, in my 2008 Mercury Mariner Hybrid AWD, I get 32-34 mpg. I'm disgusted with Ford for 1) ending the Mercury brand, and 2) for no longer manufacturing hybrid SUV's!
svtenthusiast
Only way to get the advertised MPG in these vehicles is run it between 60-65 MPH. Anything more than that and these things really drop off. This is one of the first vehicles I struggle with hitting the highway rating in all but the most ideal conditions, and I run between 60-65 MPH. These EcoBoosts are a little overhyped in respect to MPG, as if you go to fuelly.com, you can see the overall MPG of the 2012 model matches the overall of 2013 vehicles registered there. http://www.fuelly.com/car/ford/escape Edited April 30, 2013 by svtenthusiast
Escapism
Still don't know. FWD or AWD tramsmission???

Escapism
AWD Hell, thats not too shabby then. I mean, I get 28 mpg when doing 50-55 mph on the highway. If I do 70-75 mph, I'm sure it would drop to 24-25 mpg. I will have the opportunity to test it out this weekend. Going on a road trip. schield
This winter I averaged 24-25 mpg driving 90% highway @ 60 mph. 2.0L AWD. So far this fill up now that it has warmed up outside I am getting 30 mpg. 9500 miles on the vehicle.
