PREMiERdrum
Price and options, which is the better deal? Do you mean Cherokee or Grand Cherokee? Grand Cherokee is quite a bit larger and more expensive than Escape. Cherokee is quite a bit uglier than Escape.
Bryan1
I want to know more on this, too. Cherokee (non-Grand) vs Escape Which is better? Which is better off-road and better in the snow?
akirby
That's easy. Cherokee will be better off road but Escape should be better on road and looks a hell of a lot better. I expect Escape to have more features/amenities but I haven't compared them to be sure.

Cherokee actually has more optional features/amenities than the Escape has. (heated wheel, adaptive cruise, vented seats etc) Though you can also have a 40K sticker price with it. jpd80
Interesting that FWD versions of Escape and Cherokee start at similar price just under $23K The two vehicles are keenly priced and offer good value and reasonable features at the basic entry point. Starting prices for 4x4 top of the range versions (V6 trailhawk 4x4) (2.0 EB Titanium 4x4) is just over $31K This is an impressive effort from Jeep but I feel that the two vehicles attract different customer groups... Minx88
I personally think neither are the best options in the class. Try out the mazda cx5.
