Tags
I don't believe the Fusion is going to get the AWD model. I know that the Lincoln MKZ will have it though.

igor
Thanks Igor Forgot to mention, that someone here mentioned that the AWD Fusions/Milans are being built already ... so they should start arriving at dealers soon. Igor
ClevelandMillwright
The AWD Fusion will start being produced Sept. 4 2006, it is a Job2 option. I have already ordered one and it is scheduled to be produced on Sept. 4th. It will be my 2nd foreign car, my F150 was made in Canada. But the one thing all of my cars will have in common is that either the whole engine or the engine block was made right here in Cleveland. No one has any info at the dealers I've been to.

ClevelandMillwright
What are the options on these? Same as the regular Fusion? No one has any info at the dealers I've been to. The 2007 Job2 options which are available starting Sept. 4th are: AWD on SE and SEL, satellite radio(Sirius), in dash navigation(GPS), Factory spoiler. There are 3 new colors also available with Job2: Dark Amethyst , Silver Birch, and Alloy. 3 colors were removed from production: Titanium Green Metallic, Charcoal Beige Metallic and silver frost. If your dealer does not have the Job 2 order guide, go to another dealer. It took me going to 3 different dealerships until I found one that knew what they were doing. igor
After the F-150 and Taurus. Not Taurus anymore ... and you know Fusion would suprasss Taurus with ease if Hermosillo had any capacity left ... Igor
iluvford
The money made from the Fusion (Milan and MKZ too) still goes back to good ole' Dearborn! I am diehard American but I will be purchasing a 07' MKZ in 2 months. I talked myself into it knowning just that---the money will go back to my homestate. I have a 05 F-150 that was built at Rouge and I had a 99' Sable built in Chicago.
kcsuperduty
I think they need to design the fusion in a 2-door and assemble it in one of the plants in the united states. I believe they would have enough buyers for that. Also they need to bring back the ZX2 with gas at the rate it is I also think it would sell alot. It used to be a hot seller for ford and it can be again they have all the information just order the parts and retool the plant and go attack the other manufactures. Use some brains and commen sense detroit. It is not rocket science.

They should bring back the Fusion, Milan, and MKX (all models) back to the US for production here. More jobs.

ZX# moniker was dropped however in 2006 model year. Focus now gets 27/37 mpg, and the 08 redesigned version will likely bump it up to 30/40 Fusion coupe is also rumored to be approved already, slotted for 08 or 09 model year. And the production location - I agree ... Mustang should be given derivates and be moved to another plant, and part of the Fusion, Milan, Zephyr production shuld come off AAI lines, to give UAW buff their Ford midsize .. I would not be surprised if just that is in the owrks, since Ford is said to be working on verious version of the Mustang platforms, and Mazda6 is moving to true Cd3 platform, and there are rumblings of movement around AAI. kcsuperduty
The ZX2 was the Escort coupe, it has a longer wheel base than the focus's. I think it has a better ride than the focus for that reason. Ford could calm the critiques if they have another car model that is small and great gas mileage. If they do not like the name ZX2 then call it the "Ford Fulcan" or something if you what to keep it away from the Focus name.
mnm
Yes, it is. They are still building it, and selling it. Last day of production is Oct 27th, and with inventory, it will sell for the rest of the year. The Taurus will still be Fords best selling car of 2006. I don't care. It's a foreign car, will never be allowed in my driveway, and I will never issue a pin for it. so under that logic-it would be ok to park a subaru that was built in indiana by american workers right? and if i come to a party at your house in my zx5, are you going to come out and run my VIN to make sure it wasn't built in mexico? mnm
Yes. I've done it before. If it starts with a 3, it's in the street. um well ok then-i'll bring the explorer the to next BBQ

The_Economist
After the F-150 and Taurus. You're correct. However, I was really implying non-truck sales and vehicles that aren't being propped up by fleet sales.
The_Economist
You do realize that you have more exceptions than rules, right? If you work in a plant, you should be used to that.
