MTP'er
Nothing but rumors so far. If anything they will probably cut a shift before they bring people back. Gas prices are low, small cars aren't selling.
fuzzymoomoo
Wait a few months for all of the pending transfers to take place and the retirement buyouts to happen. That's pretty much what those of us from the first round of layoffs in June have been told.
MTP'er
Been hearing from benefits rep that only 4000 are going. Not much for all of Ford.

Not much for all of Ford. going where though? 4000 to one place is an entire plant worth of workers. Or are you talking about the retirement buyouts? A friend who picked up some OT at FRAP today just told me the same thing. I think they're from the group who was laid off right before thanksgiving. fuzzymoomoo
No not just tier 1, all employees now have the right to sign postings, seniority rules of course But what about those of us who are "on assignment"? That's what I would like to know
fuzzymoomoo
Called MAP labor relations today. They told me that if you are currently on an assignment you are NOT eligible to sign for any transfer postings. Anyone else who is actively working at MAP or on ILO is eligible to sign, even the formerly known as Entry Level Employees.
BigDeal
But if map gets enough people to transfer out, you would come back off temp assignment im guessing

one of a kind
Now according to the new contract don't the ILO'S have to be picked up before anyone transfers from map to another facility?
fuzzymoomoo
Now according to the new contract don't the ILO'S have to be picked up before anyone transfers from map to another facility? In most cases yes, but because we are still "technically" MAP employees (it's still our home plant) I don't know how exactly that applies to us. I think it's seniority rules but I'm not 100% sure.
