IggyAZ
I have noticed the 2016 MKX has different differential ratios available. 3.16 and 3.39 I have 3.39 in my MKX but wanted to ask which is better for mpg or why the difference rations. Engines types? What is the standard for the V6 Regular gas engine? Hopefully this is in the right forum to ask a technical question like this. If not please transfer to the correct area. Thanks

Thanks Typically, the lower the number (higher the gears), the better the fuel economy is on the highway as it is running a lower RPM at the same speed. However, higher numbers (lower gears) normally give better fuel economy in city driving. My guess is that the 3.39 is standard with the standard V6 whereas the 3.16 is standard with the EcoBoost engine. The higher the number, the better acceleration will be as well, which is one reason the EcoBoost comes with the lower gears...it doesn't need the help of the lower gears to increase acceleration. IggyAZ
With further research I found that the 3.7L V6 shows 3.39/3.65 ration. I'm guessing it means the 3.7L V6 has 3.39 is final gear and 3.65 in Overdrive andThe 2.7L Eco V6 engine shows 3.16 final gear and 3.39 in Overdrive Learning more each day. fordmantpw
So, I went out to look it up on the Lincoln web site: Final drive ratio 3.39/3.65 3.16/3.39 Those numbers on the left of the slash are for FWD models, while the number on the right is for AWD models. The left set of numbers is the standard V6, the right is the EB V6. You only get one final drive ratio on your car, OD doesn't play into it. akirby
You also have to take into account the size and weight of the wheels and tires (bigger heavier require a numerically higher ratio to maintain performance) and the transmission gearing. Since you can't control it on the MKX it isn't worth worrying about.

The quote feature does not work on my iPhone either. Also, make sure you are clicking 'Quote' and not 'MultiQuote.' Clicking 'MultiQuote' means you will have to click the 'Reply to 1 quoted post(s)' button at the bottom right of the screen when you have selected all of the messages you want to quote. fordmantpw
Shocking! As a developer, I used to prefer IE. As a user, I can't stand IE! That graphic is 1000000000% correct. Slow as hell!
akirby
Is Edge any better? And why does Microsoft name their browsers after Ford utility vehicles?
fordmantpw
Is Edge any better? It's a lot better, but still not as fast as Chrome. And why does Microsoft name their browsers after Ford utility vehicles? Ha! Good question. Did you see what Ford tweeted (I think it was twitter anyway) when MS announced they were renaming their browser Edge? They had a pic of an Explorer and an Edge and said something to the effect of 'both sound good to us.' I can't find it now, but it was comical.
