Chris Bode
Hello, Does anyone know if the 2.0 rolling in fusions these days is the twin scroll redesign that edge got a year or two back ? I'm still waiting on my factory order, build date was 6.22 and its still not here so I can't check myself.
akirby
It appears that it is from the power numbers but I can't find anything to confirm it.
Economic Sinkhole
How would a person be able to check? I am supposedly picking up my 2.0 Fusion tomorrow (or maybe Sunday) and I would like to find out as well.
akirby
Remove the turbo and count the scrolls? On the one hand, the power ratings match the Edge. OTOH the Edge clearly says Twin Scroll turbo and Fusion does not. And none of the online docs I could find reference a twin scroll turbo. If I had to guess I'd say it does not have the twin scroll but I wouldn't put money on it.
akirby
Motor Trend says it did get the twin-scroll. So based on the power numbers I guess it does have twin scroll. Strange they don't mention it by name like Edge. Edited July 13, 2016 by akirby
Economic Sinkhole
I went to fordparts.com and looked up the turbos in both the Edge and Fusion and they have the same part number listed (6K682). This would seem to indicate that the fusion has the same turbo as the Edge. I looked up the 2.0 models. (Edited- realized that I typed Escape instead of Edge) Edited July 14, 2016 by Economic Sinkhole

akirby
Didn't the ford press release mention it? Not the one I found on media.ford.com. There might have been a different one that mentioned it.

The only thing they show on fordparts.com is the base part number, which is the same for all vehicle across multiple years. If you could go back to the SVO Mustang 2.3L from the 80s, the base part number would likely be 6K682. Almost all engine control modules are 12A650. 92merc
This article on Car and Driver are claiming both the 1.5 and 2.0 EB are twin scroll. Even states the 2.0 "awaiting power figures", meaning they've changed. http://www.caranddriver.com/news/2017-ford-fusion-photos-and-info-news
