Edgey
I'm hoping that the new V6 and "BOSS" motors are about to usher in a serious era for FoMoCo performance...but first they gotta get under some hoods.... Ford has a nasty history of canceling engines... I would not count on the Boss just yet.

Early this year the Boss received final approval and funding for production
Watchdevil
Couldn't they have used a bit more, hmmm healthier model, to display the step feature? Well a hefty daddy to model the hefty truck! Honestly that truck is on the verge of butt ugly and gaudy with that front end style... Oh yeah and doncha love how the new thing now is to put fender vents on cars and trucks to make them seem like something more exclusive? Cadillac has them on the Escalade and so will the ugly MkS... If this were Dodge you could imagine all the cars would get the ugly snout too... So that should automatically mean any sort of logic should be thrown out the window in favor of drool over anything with the blue oval on the front. Well you can compare the aztek to the highlander and come up with the same conclusion......... Disproportional everything will make a vehicle interesting and Hideous. It would do better to have it look as you put it a "tad boring" Maybe they should try that look on the Crown Vic... GT40 2
how much different will the XL look?
swenson88
how much different will the XL look? My bet is it's just a flat gray plastic version of the same grille, just like the current and past generations.
JLaudioF150
My bet is it's just a flat gray plastic version of the same grille, just like the current and past generations. I agree. Then, it makes one wonder what the headlights would look like since they too have been different in the current and past generations.
Edstock
The styling approaches are radically different. It all starts at the bumper. The Ford is a continuous straight piece, the Chev has a notch in it in which the grill nests. The Ford grill starts about 3" or so higher (the headlight assemblies on both are about the same height, even though the headlights themselves are different heights) and extends a similar amount above the headlight assemblies, while the Chev grill is flush-top with them. The Ford approach looks tougher, while the Chev, with the low-mounted fog/whatever lamps (I wonder how long those lenses will hold up on a construction site?) looks more 'el Camino'. IMHO, the Ford says TRUCK more than the GM approach. Add the fender eshaust vent, and it's good to go. JLaudioF150
I thought I'd post a couple more pics I found on F150online from the Dallas State Fair this week. A Different Grill
