Or is it possible to have a vin without being scheduled? VIN numbers are generated at the same time an order is scheduled. If you have a VIN number your order is scheduled. Without a VIN number the order is not scheduled with the exception of vehicles scheduled for export and several vehicle lines (foreign plants) that don't get VIN numbers until shortly before production. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

No! If the order doesn't meet all the commodity restrictions in place it doesn't get scheduled and no VIN number is generated. Thank you! Thats what I thought I read somewhere. I just stopped at my dealership but wasn’t able to get any information about my truck either! Just got the standard “when we hear any news we will let you know” ? edit.....he did verify I have a vin but I already knew that. These forums are way more useful then my dealership.
