And that word is "capacity". There has been a wait for both models-with the KIA being exceptionally so-since the model release. On the other hand-the "Edge" was a solution to a problem that didn't exist. You may be right on the price issue as well-IDK. Explorer and Edge are both suffering sporadic production yet continue to comfortably out sell the Korean twins. From launch, certain folks have been expecting the Korean twins to take sales from Explorer but apparently, that hasn’t happened in spite of Ford sabotaging its own product launch a few years back…. Edge starts from $37,145………….. March production 15,647 Explorer starts from $33,745………March production 30,197 Probably a brief uptick in production. Pallisades starts from $60,060….. (South Korea) US demand is 8,000-9,000/ mth production 6,000-7,000 Telluride starts from $33,090……….March production 9,325 Edited April 23, 2022 by jpd80

They wouldn't also fake the muffler and all the other bits. Also, as already pointed out, this is a prototype - meaning it is wearing production body panel (but camouflaged) and the lower half of it is pretty much identical to Evos. The only substantial difference to Evos is the greenhouse behind the B-pillar. We can speculate what that means but I think safe to say this is not a GE2 mule.
