The idea they are also improving it every model year is also a change in the development process where there are some pretty significant improvements that happen between not only model years but as running changes. I remember the Sandy Munro review of systems on the MME discussed with one of the lead engineers. That answered a lot f questions, the gaggle of pumps and coolant pipes were a result of adapting existing C2 sourced PHEV cooling system to the MME, Munro was advised that Ford already had plans to reduce the complexity of that after the initial rollout. The best part about MME is that it was a rescue of the e C-Max which was going to be an absolute dud as Europe was already moving from those dumpy looking proportions. Shame there wasn’t a companion car (Mustang Capri?) to give the Tesla 3 a run for its money……. Edited February 19, 2022 by jpd80

While consumers might bitch about not being able to buy direct and avoid the dealer games, consumers would also bitch to high heaven without dealers to service their vehicles after the sale. Dealers are both the OEM's ace in the hole and albatross. If the OEM's and dealers could agree to such a model, it might benefit all parties in the longer term. Yep. That’s why I proposed the guaranteed MSRP order model. Dealers can make way more than ever before with that model and no real work.
