As others have said, an Escape ST with Corsair drive line and certain cabin bits would be a good reuse of existing tech and low cost to develop…. Corsair, rotary shifter? That's what Escape has. jpd80
I got it backwards, Escape PHEV leaked interior has gone from a rotary shifter back to a stick shifter…. Borg said this on GMI, Quote The Escape PHEV leaked out revealing a view of the dashboard with the new large screen. This appears to be the same screen from the Lincoln Nautilus. But more shockingly, they swapped out the dial shifter for a stick shifter. This is ironic considering the massive recall on the pre-dial design which had a faulty position sensor and couldn't auto-park itself to prevent roll-away risks. I guess Ford is either back to that with Escape, or they will just warn the driver if the lever isn't in the right position. They also eliminated most of the HVAC and Audio controls, I don't think I even see a volume knob...in its place is a Start button? Hard to tell, but I have concerns. Most of this is likely cost cutting measures since the Escape is due to be discontinued in about 2-3 years. Looks like the HUD has been axed as well, the only Ford that had one.
