Clinton didn't have to deal with 9/11. If he had properly responded to the first attack on the WTC, maybe 9/11 would not have happened. What Ford is doing now, has nothing to do with which government is in power. It is NOT that simple. Some people are better off, some are worse off, some are about the same. On average, people are better off. The prosperity enjoyed during the Clinton years was not because of him, but in spite of him. He rode the coattails of the two previous administrations.

[ For the politically uninformed, they were Ronald Reagan, Republican, the best man who ever lived, and the first president not to be assassinated in over 100 years who was elected in a year ending in a 0; who told his wife, Nancy, after being wounded in an assassination attempt in 1981, "I forgot to duck" I loved that man. He served from 1980-1988; and his VP, George Bush Sr., who served from 1988-2002.]

Reagan returned America to its destiny.

I don't agree. I think Reagan borrowed and spent way to much money as he ran the russians broke in an arms race. He caused the recession that ended the presidency of his vp GHW Bush. I am not talking about Ford or any other company when I ask the question are you better off now? I am talking about regular people like you and me.

The republican congress has forgotten about the people of this country as they line there pockets with money from the big business lobbyists that own them

WHAT ABOUT THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE?

THESE PEOPLE WORK FOR US!!!!!!!!!! Yet they do notheing for us. How can you not see it. :titanic:

[i changed "assassinated"to"died while in office".] Big business is the reason that we now have all that we now have. They were once small business, but they were smart, so now they are big business. Reagan was the spark which led to the prosperity which we enjoyed during the 80s and 90s. The early 90s was not a real recession, just a blip. The Bushes do not need any more money. What George Bush does is what he believes is for the good of the country. Some Democrats may need a few more bucks, and be willing to sell the country out.

Coming from a staunchly independent/libertarian line of thought and view. You people also seem to forget how much damage the Democrats have done to this country. Especially the past 15 or so years! They are the ones who also backed NAFTA. And your beloved, "I could do no wrong" El Presidente' Bill Clinton signed it. So remember that one and all the other tax hikes you pay for when your union once again tells you how to think.

NAFTA = NORTH AMERICAN TRADE AGREEMENT= CANADA, MEXICO AND AMERICA. BUSH ALLOWED THE REST IN.

Why were you so concerned about his? YOU SAID "Most gays are Democrats like Dark.". Your main stream media guy (CONSERVATIVE) is in the news for this! If it were not true don't you think there would be a "defamation of character" suit against them? Or any of those legal GARBAGE suits?

Recession from 87 to 90?

Just baloney. Give me something to back that up.

I have know time to argue economics with a person with no factual knowledge of the subject.

CHOKE ON IT

You're right. Recession shorter but gdp sputtering from 87'. Still recession.

Please feel free to respond to the rest if the information I have so graciously provided for you. Oops, my bad. F :censored: n knuckleweenie. What about the rest of the "factual knowledge" you have ignored in the post? You don't even have a harumpf or another longwinded speech to quote. I have a suggestion- Start with looking up the commonly accepted definition of a recession. :titanic:

One more for the road-

Murtha claims Bush has recognized Iraq policy 'failed'

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Rep. John Murtha, D-Pennsylvania, said President Bush's decision to no longer use the phrase "stay the course" when talking about his Iraq policy signals Bush is acknowledging his plan for Iraq has failed.

"This acknowledgement by the President finally recognizes his failed policy is clearly not working," Murtha said Tuesday in a statement released by his office.

While Murtha was an early supporter of the Iraqi invasion, the Pennsylvania Democrat and Vietnam veteran has become one of the House's most prominent critics of the war in Iraq. -- From CNN's Alexander Mooney (Posted 5:41 p.m.)

I knew that you would bring this up. We now have a gay Republican, who may have solicited a male intern. Wow. Clinton solicited at least one female intern. The Democrats are in favor of gays, so why do they attack a gay Republican? There are way more gay Democrats than gay Republicans. Republicans will stay Republican. Maybe some gay Democrats will see the hypocracy, and turn Republican.

First thing is there was no major recession during the Reagan or Bush 1 years.

The balanced budget was forced on Clinton by Gingrich and the other Republicans. (this is why the budget was not balanced when Clinton had a Democrat Congress)

Clinton shut down the government to fight cutting the budget . Welfare reform was also from Gingrich and the Republicans.

Here is a list of recessions, which includes 1987-92.

As far as the balanced budget. You cannot erase massive debt overnight, but it started with Democratic legiislation the Omnibus Budget Reconcilation Act of 1993, without a single Republican vote because of the tax increases on the wealthiest 1 percent. This helped the Republicans take control of the Legislature by inciting fear of more tax hikes. They said the bill was a mistake - a catastrophe for the American people - ha!

It always amazes me that the biggest supporters of Bush in this forum are Canadians, go figure?

Trimdingman, you are such a silly person. Remember NEWT. your big right wing republican. His sister was openly gay, as many in the republican party. I;am sure the dems have gay supporters to, except with a very big difference, the democrats aren't Hippocrates, most democrats stand for family values, I personally have a great family, I pay my bills (unlike republicans and our govt.) and I do not stick my nose in my neighbors business nor do I think I am better than he. Most republicans I know talk one way when it comes to everyone else but when it comes to them they want special treatment, what a joke. And I can truly say even the rich republicans I know are just oneabees. To be a true republican you must be from old money, and willing to screw anyone out of what they rightly worked for. Talk tuff on national security, but get deferments so you don't have to fight, what a joke. I am a democrat all the way. Family man, pay my bills, ask for nothing from my govt, but have compassion for those who are truly needy. :kissass:

Family man, pay my bills, ask for nothing from my govt, but have compassion for those who are truly needy. :kissass:

Dont forget Cheney's daughter!

End of Time, I know that you and I don't quite see eye to eye on more than a few things, and this is

really not ment to be a bash on you personally.

Like you, I'm a family man, pay my bills, ask for nothing from my govt, but have compassion for those

who are truly needy.

But being those things, I guess I may have a bit of a different view. One is, I firmly believe in my second

admendment right to keep and bear arms. I believe that right gives me the tools I need to protect my

family and my person. Because of the fact that I ask nothing from my government, I feel I need to

protect them and myself. If someone is standing in my house at 3 in the morning with a .38 in their hand,

it is more than likely a little too late to call my government for help. That being said, I cannot vote

for a democrat, because as long as the Nacy Pelosis, Chuck Shumers, Ted Kennedys, Hillary Clintons,

and the like continue to hijack your party, this country is weaker for it.

On some issues, the democrats are hippocritical. Nancy Pelosi votes for every gun control law that comes

along. She has been at the forefront of the attack on the second admendment, yet, she makes sure

that SHE has her own concealed carry permit. Why is it ok for her to carry a weapon, but she

consistantly votes to try to limit my ability to carry, or to have the means to protect myself and my

family?

The fact of the matter is this (in my opinion), BOTH parties have been hijacked by the far left/right

extremists in each of the respective parties. We all hear what is the worst in both, and chose to ignore

everything else. I judge the democrat party by the Nancys, and the Teds, and the Chucks, while other

people judge the republican party by the Hasterts, the Bushs, the Foleys, and the list goes on (in both

cases).

There is a middle ground that most people fail to see because of the extreme bias that is shown by the

media. And by bias, I mean that unless it is outlandish, or some atrocity commited by someone, it just

doesnt get reported. I am sure that they may be a few democrats that I overlook simply because of

the fact when I hear "deomcrat", I immediatly think of the wackos that have taken the forefront in that

party.

But I will say say this, while I do vote mostly republican, I also look at the issues as well. And I simply

vote for the person with whom I most agree. I have voted for many a democrat, but not nearly as many

as have I voted for as republican. Give me a democrat who will support my second amendment rights,

support US labor, give me viable option for health care that isnt based on socialism, and will take away

the welfare checks of the bums (who arent truely needy) and force them to take care of their own,

and they will have my vote in a heartbeat.

What is wrong with being Gay?

It is really none of your business, if a person is gay or not.

I didn't say that there was anything wrong with being gay. All I was trying to say was that I find it hypocritical that the Democrats, who supposedly support gays, would use so much energy going after a gay Republican. Also, who was it who made sure that everyone knew that Newt Gingrich's daughter is gay? It was the Democrats. What do the Democrats have against gays? As far as gay marriage is concerned, in my opinion, the government should not be involved in any kind of marriage. It should be a private ceremony with no legal connotations.

Really?

Elected by the People?

Popular vote did not put Bush in power. There is still a good case that both elections were "hijacked". Never before has a President had so much "Help" in winning any election. Florida, Ohio, .......................

I was watching O'Reilly last night, they were talking about the first Patriot Act, I believe it was in his first term. All they said was that a majority of the country supports him. If I remember correctly did'nt Gore take a majority of the country's vote?

I was just messin with him. It is not my business, his business, or our Governments business.

They are not going after him because he is gay. They are going after him because he solicited underage boys.
