Bob Rosadini
So I noted in the Ford Accessory site a nice 4 pc. locking cleat set for the 150..$105 came today and very heavy hardware. Only problem is the four locations in the bed that have tapped drill holes to accept this kit, according to pg. 414 of the owners manual show a plate that is attached that the cleats obviously lock into. So my logic says, as these four plates are not included in kit, must be that plates are installed when truck is built..Perhaps KC employee was distracted when this bed went by his station. Value of these four plates?...probably 5 bucks...tapping the holes probably a more costly figure. Sent note to my salesman, stand by🤔

Well TT I got a quick answer from my sales rep. The plates are sold as another kit for 60 bucks You get 4 plates and 16 cap screws to attach. Only problem on Ford Accessory site in the cleat description it clearly shows the cleats attached to the bed with the plate. Reasonable assumption assumption on my part that was part of the package. And at $105, the four cleats are decent items...but 60 bucks for four stamped plates and 16 cap screws, a bit much. So before I ordered the plates on Sat I sent a note to Ford site, suggesting that the site should have said.."requires plate kit XYZ sold separately for Installation". Could not print my message but I implied.."you owe me, but at the very least you should give me some additional points beyond the $60. Sounds like after the cleat kit went into the "accessory catalog", someone came up with another decontenting scheme. Stay tuned>

When I was ordering an engine cover for my '21 Ranger, I had to order the cover, mounting studs and the nuts as three separate items.
