Sherminator98
Sometimes I wonder about GM's logic with pricing-they are asking 174K for a range topping product that will sell in limited numbers. Ford is asking $300K for the Mustang GTD that is limited to a 1000 units, I don't see the ZR1 really selling that much more then that in a year and would most likely would be able to support a higher price because of that...not to mention dealer ADMs that will be on them that will most likely double the price IMO. Brand and product perception, GM wants the Corvette to be seen as the best bang for buck performance car in the world. Will dealers screw that up? Absolutely. As much as I love the GTD, things haven't looked great for it lately. If Ford isn't talking today after this news about doing a c8 rival, then they're freaking nuts. You have people foaming at the mouth ready to run to Chevy dealerships to give them 200 grand essentially, begging to do that. Whereas the wind has sort of been sucked out of the GTD's sails. Personally the GTD has never done anything for me and I’ve always thought it looks kind of ridiculous. I understand the performance though, and IIRC, they’ve been able to sell all they’re anticipating, no?

I'm assuming they sold every one they intend to make...and people are just waiting for delivery...and I think at that point with people making that much money, they can afford both if they really wanted to?
