onmyway
Just wondering, does anyone know which plants have child care facilities on site? Any information would be appreciated. Or child care facilities nearby? Thanks in advance.
DearbornDerek
DTP was supposed to have one on site but that fell through. We do have a Ford/UAW family center down the street, don't know if they provide that kind of service though.

onmyway
because only a loving parent would put their kid in childcare on midnight shift- You have no CLUE. I am a 12 year employee at an ACH facility that is closing. Guess WHAT ELSE? I am a single mom. Now smartass, you can tell me what you would do if you were in my shoes. I will maybe, hopefully be getting to flowback to a ford facility. But I will not know anyone when I get there. So until I make some contacts, I will need somewhere to take my kid so I can continue to work and support us.
ivaguelyremember
You could call the township school district once you figure out where you are going. Every state has a register for parents who need before/after school care. If your child is below school age, you can Google your request on the internet. I can't imagine that Detroit doesn't have at least a few facilities.
kcipgirl
KCAP has a family center up the road but it only offers day care. But they usually have a list of local sitters that may do nights. If not, don't be shy about asking around, honey, because you are not alone. I'm a single mother of 2 teenages. I moved my mom in to keep track of them while I work the night shift. I get no child support. Doing it all on my own. And if i met Mr. MNM, i would pick up one of my IP's and beat him with it. Girls have to stick together. :devil2:

wildosvt
Onmyway, These centers for daycare from UAW/Ford are PRICEY!. We looked into them for our children and could not see paying that kind of money. Im not sure of all states. But I would check with the States (you end up in) programs for people looking for child care. We did, And found a WONDERFUL woman who is exactly what we were looking for! OAC_Sparky
because only a loving parent would put their kid in childcare on midnight shift- No, a loving mom would be staying at home in a trailer park collecting welfare like a million other welfare moms, instead of doing what she has to do to improve the standard of living for her family. You do what you can, with the means available to you. There are far worse fates for a child than being in daycare.

Hellcat_F6F
There is a service, Ford Life Benefit I think it's called..if you contact them, they can give you a list of participating child care providers in your area. I did, and we found a wonderful lady who lives just about 2 miles away, who would take our daughter early enough so I could drop her off on my way to work, @ 5am. It's been great for us. My wife works nights at the hospital, so sometimes our schedules conflict and I have to leave for work before she gets home.
KWMJ-KTP
As far as the Childcare services at KTP, It is only available for A-Crew last I heard. You're on your own if you work on B or C Crew.

She said she had 12 years so she will have dayshift if she wants it as of the seniorty now. That may change with buyouts and transfers. good Luck
