    Saw a 2007

Well, I didnt say it would be a new platform, just 'new'. It is a mystery still waht will be changed. So far just seen spy pics of 3 bar grille, and supposedly that the C170 will get some C1 parts. Who knows? If they don't at least give it new sheet metal, its a dead duck.
  2. The 427 was just a body on a Panther chassis. Not a whole new car.
  3. Can pretend no problems exist, but fact is they have too much excess inventory, just like the 70's before near bankruptcy. Where are all the predicted sales?? Shows that the LX cars are not all that big a deal, too. Sure they sold well, but are slowing down and not 'taking over' as some thought.

    Saw a 2007

I saw a Focus with a new bright blue color at an Enterprise outlet near me. Is it maybe a 2007? They started job 1 in early May so they would be trickling in. Looks like the 2008 will be out by spring next year [2007 CY]. Hey better than nothing!
  5. "The Focus sold for full price when it first came out" Anyone who did is a total fool! They were in short supply, and they had piss poor quality too. Bet if they did C1, it would have lost $$$$ after a few months. See why below. People whine, whine and whine "Why isnt there a Focus C1?" Boo f-ing hooooooo. Get a MZ3. And no way do the 3's sell for full sticker. But want to know why they sell higher? They are keeping them in short supply. Ford cannot short sell Focus, why you ask? They need to sell them in volume for CAFE laws!! So how about them apples??? C1 Foci would still be rebated so they could get the sales to offset bigger cars in the fleet, simple math. BTW: Volvo will make the s40 bigger and more expensive merging it with the V60.
  6. Focus sales are up 13% this month, MZ3 sales are down 4%. Looks like some are 're-noticing' the car. hehe And no one in their right mind is buying MZ3's for full sticker!
  7. What matters is what buyers and owners think, not biased media 'info-tainment'
  8. Not for 2007, but for 08 If Ford did sell C1, it would be like the Chevy Prizm all over again. Buyers would assume it's "junk" since it has an American name on it, and it would still need rebates and have lower resale due to 'perceptions'.
  9. Well, GM and Mopar-strudel make cars in MEX also, and have Asian partners too.
  10. It makes we root for the North Koreans to merge the South.
  11. We fought the Korean war for this, too, :titanic:
  12. It is sweet revenge on rice boys, but Acura is chasing Lexus and the loyal Integra fans buy used. So, can't sell enough brand new ones, they are moving on.
  13. OK, whoever thinks that this is a 'failure' is dead wrong. The new 2008 Vibe design is coming in less than a year! There were new emissions rules that made it worthless to certify the AWD high end Vibe. I swear, so many so called "car fans" don't read entire articles, or know what is really going on in the business. All they care about is pretty pictures and drag strip times.
  14. The jury is still out on whether the LX car can withstand real world duty. The frame may be a Benz, but it still has cheaper parts in it. Those that think 'Ford never updated the car, boo hoo' gotta realize many cop agencies say "dont change a thing! its fine!"
  15. The CR-V is making a comeback due to gas prices, and incentives, since it is in the last year of generation. New Civics are hot. But Accord is lukewarm. Even though I dislike the Element, it gets old hippies' $$. Ridgelines with cab covers are a recent development, and they are getting the buyers who want a truck but are deathly afraid of any domestic. OTOH Honda's 'well regarded' sporty cars need more than 'street talk' to sell though. Shows that bread and butter produsts are what makes a car comany hum. Gear heads claim that all the Big 3 have to do is sell RWD muscle cars to come back, but get real.
  16. The Dodge boys' trucks are tanking. Looks like they are back to 1980's 3rd rate sales levels. Charger isn't a 300, though. Also, no one truly misses the Neon other than Allpar nerds. Jeep will always have some yuppie appeal and do OK. The new cute ute Jeeps will sell well in all the trendy gentrified city hoods.
  17. "Fusion is no more than a passing fad... Taurus was a passing fad also, and most of its life it was a rental car special. So, who really misses the SHO? And who REALLY bought a brand new one? I.E. put $$$ where their mouth is? "Retro really blows" And selling well too. Teens can't afford new cars, so guess who really buys them? Many 'futuristic teeny bopper' cars are true passing fads and end up dead. Like Probe and Celica. Eclipse is next.
  18. Well, at least it is doing better then the Loser LS, the forgetten 'experiment' to try to make Lincoln into BMW. How about making Lincoln into Lincoln!
  19. If this "theory" were true, the new Fusion would be called 'Taurus' still, and #1 car, and very profitable. And all the owners of 90's Tauri with blown engines/trannys, and the shit resale certainly have something to say too. :titanic: Many fled to Toyota showrooms, and are never coming back. So much for the 'greatest car of its time"!
  20. One problem is some still say 'Why do they name a car after a game?" I like that VW is shaking up the status quo. Sales are declining, and something different is better then boring old stuffiness. "The current Jetta looks classic, .... The newest Jetta looks... bad." Umm.. the 'current Jetta' IS the MkV [newest]! The MkIV has been out of production over a year!! Not 'current' at all!!!! rofl
  21. Seems like men like to play the 'girlie' card to put someone or something down. As if that is the end of the arguement. Sounds like the Luddites who refused to use modern tools, and destroyed them. Also, sounds like the old timers who thought big cushy 1970's boat-mobiles were 'manly cars', compared to imports of the da6y. The 'girlie' card is neanderthal, and belongs in the trailer court.
  22. Well, if bought brand new, then some $$ goes to Dearborn instead of Tokyo, Stuttgart, or Seoul. Also, people on news shows still claim that "they have the technology hidden away to get 90MPG". If true, in $5 a gallon countries, it would be common.
  23. Tomorrow is Job # last one. Who will get the last one?
  24. Again, not everyone is going to be happy. Some just want 300+ hp, and will wait to buy it used. Other will want IRS, adn wait for that. Meanwhile only fleets are buying them.
