Big 10: Fords global c platform

What is the difference between the Focus wagon and the C-Max? Sounds like all of the main structural points are the same for the C1's then is it only cosmetic with similar seating and placements? -

Ford's Success Accelerating

Thanks for your comments. Yea, the picketing is probably a waste of time but I'm now retired so I have plenty of it. Just might get some to think about what's wrong with this picture. I think a campaign to get the tea-party included might work. Lets give it some thought and see if there would be any support. -

Ha, DIP, I forgot about that term. In North Carolina I was part of the textile industry for over 40 years and DIP was part of that. We had to pay cash for supplies and of course we did not have Obama money to help. We actually came back strong and made money for several years before the Chinese overtook our efforts in 2006. I sold some of my Ford stock today to take some profits with the idea of buying back when it drops over the next few months but I could be screwed, what do you think, will it go back down for a while? I supported the bailout of GM based on jobs in a terrible economy and the fact that Ford said that if GM went under the supplier base would go too. However, earlier this week it was announced that based on law GM would get up to $50 billion in tax free profits I am beginning to get concerned that GM will have a very LARGE advantage with costs and an unfair advantage in the market. Anyway I am considering picketing my local GM dealerships saying We Want Our Money Back We Want It All Please Hoping to point out the inequities of the system. What do you think? -
Gm has already lost it's way. I thought Pontiac was the performance brand for GM. Oh wait, that's right, GM got smarter. They will no longer compete with themselves. They will sell a few, then discount some and then make something else. Stupid, Stupid, stupid. Thanks Alan Mulally, you are an intelligent man. When will we go over $16.00 When will we go over $18.00 When will we hit $30.00 My wife really loves me now and thinks I am sooooooooooooooooo smart. She is going to have more money to spend. 4D4EVR

Thanks for posting. I am pro union. I have seen both sides abuse the other. If negotiations are attempted to punish the other nobody wins. I believe that all sides need to work together. I think it needs to be win win and your are part of the winning, but also part of the giving and I hope for the sake of all that an equitable place is found.

Toyota paid for cars and told owners to keep quiet

What about Japan. I am certain I have heard/read of Japanese corp. officials sent to jail for product liability. -

Yes in civil court, but there could be people going to jail, at least if this applies to Japan. I know leaders of companies in Japan have gone to jail over similar issues. I just hope this turns out to be not true or else we will have more liberals asking for more regulation to stop the tyrants. -

No, if Apple made cars you could not afford one even for you, much less your wife. -

I think that is similar to what most would say, its just where to stop. I don't fly anymore so get rid of the FAA as an example, or the dept of education since I don't have kids anymore. It just comes down to what I think is required or needed. Then when does it pay to have preventative medicine. Should people be allowed to smoke and drive my insurance costs up. The uninsured going to the ER and not paying and then my rates go up so the hospital doesn't go out of business. Some idiot rock climber and getting lost and sending the military to find them, where does it start and stop. Those are big questions. GO HEELS -

Since in NC we are required to buy auto (liability to drive) insurance and rates are controlled by the state there are some blurred lines. -

I will call you a Tar Heel as a fellow North Carolinian, well your from Raleigh so that may be an insult. If you are a Tar Heel, innocent till proven guilty. My point was actually larger that the concept of insurance is socialism, I recognize that it is a capitalist system and you have your choice of suppliers but it is still the idea of spreading risks or all for the good of one. That I may give more than I get monetarily but the security is worth it. Wait a minute, that is it Socialism. Security, Insurance, yep those are the words chosen to name it. -

I don't understand, how is a group designed to spread the risk of costs not socialism? If you choose to join a group in insurance then you choose socialism. As was stated earlier in my state I'm required to buy auto insurance in order to drive today, that was not the case decades ago and I bought auto insurance because I could not take the chance of loosing everything because of someone else' mistake. I choose to have life insurance to protect my family against something that might happen. I choose to have medical insurance because I might get sick. I expect to pay more, and hope tp pay more than I get back. I hope my life insurance never pays off but I think it will. I just hope I pay more than I get back because it means I lived longer. The problem with SS is everyone wants more than they paid. That is not the purpose of insurance. Oh yea, the problem with private SS is it could end up like AIG, just not enough funds to cover the costs. You know too big to fail. -

Insurance is socialism you pay into a group and share as needed by the individual any who buys auto, life, medical insurance is in favor of socialism If this is not true please explain how, I really am asking for your thoughts and am open to a different point of view. -
For those who want Ford to build a New Ranger...

You could probably find a good used one pretty cheap. I have a 2000 and it still runs great. This wont help Ford but could make sense for you. -

There could be folks going to jail. Also in Asian countries the CEO typically falls on his sword, but this will be the grandson of the founder. I was impressed with the grandsons response to the congressional hearings. I thought that was handled well, we will see going forward. One more thing to keep in mind, innocent till proven guilty, lets hope for the company they are. I want Ford to stomp them, I just want it to be because we are better, not because Toyota is worse. -
