  1. Never mind, Imagine how the Chevy guys feel about the new Camaro launch being ruined by GM filing bankruptcy. They must be turning BLUE with envy...
  2. I think: He likes using the controls on the steering wheel as opposed to using center pod controls. Most people fiddle with the center pod at lights but prefer to use steering controls on the move..... Dratt, blazerdude20 types quicker than me....
  3. The I-4 Ecoboost and the former 4.2 V6 Essex engine both have similar torque curves, maybe Ford could be looking at replacing the V6 sales and promoting a greener option? There probably is a market but I think they would want to be certain buyers exist for that vehicle.....
  4. Ford needs to keep up the pressure on the government to assist Ford Credit becoming a Bank. That more than anything else will enable Ford to compete with GMAC financing.
  5. The best part is that Ford's dealer numbers are about right now and need no reductions to speak of. What a remarkable piece of good management.
  6. OK, Ford sold just under 156,000 vehicles in May, down from 206,000 in 2008. In June 2008 they sold 167,000 - can they match that figure this year? Keep in mind gas prices were much higher this time last year..... I read on Bloomberg the Annualized sales figures for US vehicles in May was 9.9 million. Hopefully, consumers are starting to spend money again.
  7. +1 timmm55, that's much better than Autoblog's CGI . I think you missed your calling ... B)
  8. Hmm, I'm still happy to be proved wrong and you get your EB V6 in the MKX CD3S is completely different to CD3, it's more like the D3/D4 so maybe it can support V6 Ecoboost and will be kept longer. Heck, it's built in the same Oakville complex.......
  9. I'm lead to believe there are very few stand alone Pontiac dealers if any. Those that don't have a second GM franchise more than likely have a different brand they sell as well.
  10. Today's Impala pales by comparison but I wonder how an Epsilon II Impala would look. Still, the Taurus is here now and in my book, Black is the new Black
  11. This guy has been in the news before with his 80 mpg Mustang - LINK It sounds like Mr. Pelmear has decided to keep his "invention' a secret and cash in..... Sounds like the 100 mpg carburator..
  12. MKX is currently on CD3S, completely different to CD3 sedan platform, both are dead end platforms.
  13. Unless a formal offer for $35 million was submitted and rejected, there's no case to answer.
  14. One more still to come, Ford has a simple logical decision with their FWD/AWDs that makes perfect sense.
  15. Already being discussed in a thread here
  16. All we're getting is a smaller version of the old GM, full of guys who think the credit crunch was the only reason they got caught out and still don't accept responsibility for failing to restructure years ago. These guys have had a lot of debts wiped away and get to keep doing the same things and it's all thanks to the American tax payer courtesy of Obama and the treasury.
  17. This time next year, the arguments about importing the C1 Focus will be moot, the next Focus is built in the USA along with specific derivatives and it wouldn't surprise if Transit Connect finally moves from the old C 170 platform to C2.
  18. Well, at least he's spreading a positive Ford message. Let's hope he gets on board the Ford band wagon and starts misquoting GM facts for a change........ On topic, His use of "world car" after Ford execs went to great pains to explain the difference says to me he's either a headline grabbing rag journalist or a complete idiot.
  19. There's nothing wrong with ordinary people test driving cars and having a website, On BON, I really enjoy reading people's posts and opinions of cars they've driven and I get a real feeling of connection with the vehicles being discussed. What frustrates about TTAC is the lack of balance which contrasts with conventional reporters because those journalists usually have consistent standards used to assess vehicles. Much of TTAC seems to be RF's my way or the highway opinion of vehicles, it's that view attracts the screaming minority of critics - I really don't care for them. Most people will accept the bland to outrageous in vehicles, it's the car buffs that really get polarized and the most vocal. The rest of the people yawn and wonder what the fuss is all about......
  20. The Fiesta report was actually one of Kiley's better efforts and full of praise for the car. Maybe we could give him a passing grade on that one.....
  21. A home run to bankruptcy.... Volume is less important these days, profitability is the word on every executive's lips.
