More the case of elimilating undesirable burocracy, duplication and lack of coordination and communication.
Bill Ford brought Mulally in because people around him were either lying to him or just telling him what he wanted to hear.
The old system were undone and provided they accepted Mulally's new corporate governance, people were welcome to stay.
You will not see too much ink on it but when Mulally started, some of the "bureaucratic subordinates" were unhappy with
the airplane man's ideas and they tried to go over his head to Bill Ford. Those people are now no longer with Ford.
BTW,
A lot of credit for JLR's turnaround should go to the four year reign of J/LR CEO Aussie Geoff Polites.
Geoff fought a battle with bowell cancer for two years working hard on the TATA sale.
Geoff returned to Australia for the birth of his first grand child which sadly he missed by days, passing away last Sunday.
He will be missed by all at Ford Australia.
